The War between the two major drug cartels in Mexico, Los Zetas and the Sinaloa Drug Cartel, has exploded to new extremes and is now affecting multiple countries. There are multiple cartels in Mexico who control certain sections of the country, but all have aligned with one or the other of the two Goliaths. This war started over the drug routes stemming from southern Mexico to the United States of America.
The Sinaloa Cartel has controlled these routes for many decades; however, with the up-rise of Los Zetas, the competition for the drug trafficking market has roared into a brutal war between the two. Now as the war continues, it has infected the entire western hemisphere and has even begun to spread to Europe. The Mexican Drug Cartel war is now an international matter. In recent news it was stated that the Sinaloa Cartel has a presence ranging from New York to Buenos Aires.
They have been the main traffickers for decades but they are losing power and are fighting to maintain control of their territories“…a report from Mexico’s El Universal published in September, which said that the Zetas were moving to take control of trafficking routes through San Marcos province, which borders on Mexico and the Pacific ocean, and had traditionally been controlled by the Sinaloa Cartel… ”(Wells, Stone, M. H. ,2013) Through their alliances with other cartels in Mexico and South America, the Sinaloa Cartel continues to traffic llegal narcotics from Colombia through Guatemala and up through Mexico. Though they continue, Los Zetas have made their presence known to the cartel and through violence are trying to take over.
The Essay on Gun Control 32
Gun Control Americans are faced with an ever-increasing problem of violence. The streets of America are now a war zone. Teenage gangsters murder one another for drug territory, and innocent victims are caught in the crossfire. However, most recent and most abhorrent, is our children are killing one another. They are killing with extreme prejudice. Our children are killing, exhibiting little or no ...
Los Zetas is a drug trafficking cartel that is comprised of ex-Mexican and Guatemalan military personal. They are perceived as highly efficient, technological, and above all very violent. According to Friedersdorf, they committed “more violence than anyone had predicted more than 60,000 deaths and 25,000 disappearances in the past seven years alone. (2012) There have been reports that Los Zetas have begun their takeover of the drug running not only in Mexico but all over the world. They have found alliances through brutality in Africa, Spain, Canada, and are currently moving towards Europe, according to Europol. They have taken control over the major territories in these countries by murdering top crime bosses and demanding allegiance from those that remain. [Columbia kingpins and groups like FARC and ELN used to control the drug routes that led from South America to Africa, Spain and ultimately most of the European Union.
Today, according to Europol and various researchers, the Mexican cartels have forged direct agreements with Colombian producers like FARC, Central American transporters such as the Mara Salvatrucha gang (MS-13), African criminal organizations in countries like Nigeria and European distributors such as the ‘Ndrangheta and the Cosa Nostra, the Calabrese and Sicilian mafias. ](WILLS, S. 2013)Due to the constant pressure in the southern states of America, these cartels have been discovered entering Canada and entering the U. S. rom the north; they have made their presence known in Canada and have begun taking control of the drug trafficking operations in that country as well. This form of conquering has been seen in the past throughout history and must be stopped or humanity can be facing World War III. The opposition would state that the ways in which the drugs are brought in to this country is not really a concern to most Americans as long as they make it here. Throughout history the U. S. government has assisted other countries with the problems concerning them.
America has helped in foreign wars with training and had those troops turn have fought against us. To suggest that the U. S. government should help in the Mexican drug war should be out of the question. Americans have no business getting involved in such a brutal situation. The U. S. has no need to risk the lives of our troops to assist the Mexican government by training military troops to fight against the Sinaloa Cartel. It was attempted and the same trained Mexican military troops are now the rebel militant group known as Los Zetas, and are currently in war with both the Sinaloa Cartel and the Mexican government.
The Homework on Difference Between Mexican And American Culture
Even though the American culture and Mexican culture have similarities, they are more different than alike. Me being Mexican-American and living so close to the Mexican-American border, I’m very familiar with these two cultures. Some differences are sports, form of speaking, and even dinner time. These might be shocking, but very true. One of the major differences is sports. In the Mexican ...
United States of America has no reason to get involved in a war that does not concern this country. The bottom line is that the Mexican Drug Cartel war doesn’t concern the U. S. because it is not this country’s problem. The United States of America is the main consumer of the drugs being trafficked by these to two Cartels, which makes it “OUR” problem, and yet no real action has been taken to stop these events. [Obama obsess about Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, and virtually every development in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, we have a significant security problem brewing much closer to home.
Yet that issue did not merit even a single sentence in a presidential debate supposedly devoted to foreign policy. ](Carpenter, T. G. , 2012) On the contrary the U. S. ATF department is now under investigation for guns that were in its control being allowed to cross over into Mexico. The “Fast and Furious” Scandal, as it has been referred to, has caused multiple crimes on both sides of the border. The guns were used in crimes ranging from theft to Murder. [ATF operation to encourage the volume sales of U. S. based guns and then try to “follow” them back to the cartels was ill-conceived and misguided from the start. How many Mexican citizens were ultimately victimized or killed by this ill-conceived plan is still a mystery. ](Heyes, J. D. , 2012) This shows that the U. S. is already involved in this war but has added fuel instead of fighting it. American citizens do not want to acknowledge what is happening south of our country, and most will continue to deny the war’s existence until they are affected by it.
The fact is that these cartels have been using American youth and gang members for decades to carry out organizational orders and have infected all of the Mexican-American border states. In conclusion, the Mexican Cartel Drug War is now the International Drug War. Though the main concentration of the Cartel War is taking place in Mexico, it is spreading like wildfire. The absence of resistance is allowing the war to growth out of hand. If action is not taken to respond to this war a new dictatorship may arise, and this time it will be in our own backyard.
The Term Paper on Mexican Drug Cartels 2
Mexico was once sought a place to go and visit just south of the border. Many American Citizens would go to see the nice beaches, eat some delicious seafood that was surprisingly better priced than it was here in the U. S and just have a mini vacation that was only about a 2 hour drive. However those days are long gone. Ongoing violence has broken out, even Mexican citizens fear for their safety ...
