There are many different theories about the creation of the world. The two that rival each other are the religious versions and the scientific version. The quote “They say that every atom in our bodies was once a part of a star”, by Carl Sagan an astronomer, supports the scientific theory, which is being accepted as true more and more each day. What the quote tells us is that Carl Sagan believed in the Big big bang Theory">bang theory and the theory of evolution. This quote supports the Big Bang theory in many ways. First, the big bang theory is the theory that the universe expanded and started to cool after a huge explosion that made planets and solar systems.
When it’s said that every atom in our body was once a part of a star it literally means that the first species here, bacteria, came from the earth which came from a star and we evolved from that. Which brings me to my next point. Evolution is the main point if this quote. For us to have the atoms of stars in our body would have had to of evolved from the first things on this earth which were bacteria.
As the bacteria and later animals continued evolving they kept passing on the atoms until they evolved in to humans. Many may not believe in the theory of evolution, but there are many findings that help prove it. One of the findings that help support the theory of evolution is the Neanderthals. Neanderthals are people who started living around 190, 000 years ago and died out only about 28, 000 years ago. Neanderthals look very much like your modern man. They we a species made to endure hash weather and live off the land.
The Essay on Charles Darwin and the Theory of Evolution
Darwin was a British scientist who first set the building blocks for the theory of evolution, and transformed the way in which we think about the natural world and the organisms within it. Charles Robert Darwin was born on the 12th of February 1809 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. He was born into a wealthy and well-connected family. Initially, he had planned to follow a medical career path, and studied ...
Though they had a stronger build in body and a larger brain, when modern man showed up the Neanderthals died out. These people may well be our ancestors, but the point is that we are very much alike and the people before them alike the Neanderthals making it seem as we have evolved from them through a series of events. Another finding that reinforces the theory of evolution is the recent finding of the little people in Flores, Indonesia. These people are not your average person, but are very much like us.
These people that were found are a smaller species of human. They were about half our average weight and size but besides that we were very much alike. The species is hypothesized to have gone to the Island after some terrible event and the only people that could make it there were the small people. Then once they got on to the island the people mated and their offspring were the first in a new species.
Without the theory of evolution how could you explain this phenomenon? While the theory of evolutions is that everything evolved from single celled bacteria many need this proven to them to believe it, so one man will try to prove it by showing you his journey to the origin of human kind. This is done by tracing DNA. It is believe that all if human kind evolved from one tribe that gradually populated the world because of their journeys out of their tribe at a better place. The reason why this is believed of them is because they hold the features of every race in their tribe.
Their blood has also been passed down from generation to generation and because of the intermingling the blood is weaker in some places and stronger in others. Another thing about them is they are the only ones that use popping sounds as a part of speech. This is believed to be because they were the first humans and that when some had spread out and left the language had changed but the original language left home. Now how would you be able to explain all of these fascinating things outside of the evolution theory? The final reason why I believe Sagan wrote this quote is to show people the Big Bang theory and the theory of evolution so that in the end they human race can come together as one. With all of the religious theories of creation each religion has their own beliefs and believes theirs to only be right. All of this separation doesn’t happen with the theory of evolution and the Big Bang theory.
The Essay on Darwins Theory On Evolution
Discuss Evolution Theory according to Darwin In 1838, Charles Darwin put together his Theory on Evolution. Darwin tried to prove his theory that man was the center of the world and not God. He believed that evolution was gradual on both humans and on organisms. Darwin believed in something called natural selection; meaning genes are to be passed on from one generation to the next. Darwins view on ...
No matter what scientist or mathematician you ask, and no matter where you are the facts will always be the same. So maybe this quote is just saying we need t o unite under one truth so that no one is excluded. To conclude there are many variations in the belief of how the universe was created, but this is one of them. Whether you agree or not that this was what Sagan’s quote meant, you can’t deny the fact that all stated here is fact as we know it and if you choose to believe it is up to you.
