There are many types of medication that are over the counter. The two most popular are Tylenol and Aspirin. These two medications have been around for many years. Both medications are use everyday by many consumers to help them with their health issues.
Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory that helps with swelling in the body. Aspirin is sometimes used to treat or prevent heart attacks, strokes, and chest pain. Aspirin prevents blood from clogging in the arteries it works as a blood thinner. Because aspirin interacts with different medications, it is not recommended to take it with other anti-inflammatory medications, like Advil, Aleve and with Mobic. It should not be taking with other blood thinners like Coumadin. Aspirin has more side effects than Tylenol. One of the major side effect is upset stomach that can cause gastric bleeding. Aspirin is not recommended for children under twelve years old.
Tylenol is a extended release drug that works over a period of time. Acetaminophen is an analgesic. It has very few side effects that any other medication would have like nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. It is safe to take Tylenol with other medications, safe for children under twelve to take Tylenol according to their dosing, and it is safe to use during pregnancy in moderation. Tylenol can be taken with food or without food. Too much Tylenol can harm the liver, this precaution can get more serious if you drink alcohol while taking Tylenol.

To sum up, the two most popular over-the-counter pain relievers are Tylenol and Aspirin. They are both similar in how they treat pain but at the same time different because Tylenol is analgesic and Aspirin is a anti-inflammatory. One has fewer side effects, and can be taken by children under twelve and during pregnancy. The other one is Aspirin that causes upset stomach and it can even cause gastric bleeding.
