It uses optical character recognition software which saves the results electronically in the computer disk. Key words are chosen depending on the knowledge, skills and abilities in a particular field or job. The key words chosen are entered in a database for ease of searching by employers and other personnel in the company. Before key words are chosen some considerations are made. Choosing potential key words It is important to visit the companys website before choosing the keywords to use. The reason is to check the kind of keywords and jargons used by the company. The same case applies when applying for a job. The keywords from the advert should be included in the resume.
The reason is that there is likelihood that the person or department that wrote the advert is the same that will scan the resumes (Career choice guide, 2009).
Conclusion To effectively create keywords clear knowledge and skills about the nature of the job should be considered. Once the right key words have been chosen, they should be scanned and stored in the database. The database makes searching easy through the use of the selected key words.
