Great Film but C For Confusing… When I first saw the movie ‘V for Vendetta’ (2006 James McTeigue) I didn’t know anything about it at all. Despite the very complex and confusing story line though, it was a very enjoyable and engrossing film. This Sci-Fi Action film is set in the near future in London and is about a terrorist, V (Hugo Weaving), who with the help of his friend Evey (Natalie Portman) plans to blow up Parliament, just like his hero, Guy Fawkes. V has many similarities to Guy Fawkes, from what sets out to do and donning a Guy Fawkes mask and long, dark cape.
The film is based at young adults, teenagers and those people who like action, mystery and Sci-Fi movies. V is a quite confusing character because of his antics and what he’s doing. He’s determined to bring the totalitarian government down, which links in to one of the movie’s ‘slogans’ “The people shouldn’t be scared of the government, the government should be scared of their people” He is also trying to get revenge on the people who treated him and others like guinea pigs by trying to perform medical experiments on them all. Every prisoner in the camp died except him.
One of the reasons he calls himself V is because he was held in the 5th cell at the Lark Hill complex or V in Roman Numerals, which was on his door. The plot of the movie is very complex and confusing. It takes quite a while to figure out what V is planning to carry out and for what reason. During several flashbacks we see why V is seeking revenge on the people in charge at the Lark Hill complex where he was imprisoned and tortured. The movie starts with Evey going out, and is approached by a pair of thugs who intended to mob and rape her, when V saves her.
The Essay on Horror Movies People Movie Films
"Natural Born Killers," Psycho," Friday the 13 th," and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" are all horror films. In these films there is always some crazy person or monster-like character that goes around and slaughters innocent people. And usually, but not all the time the killer is killed at the end of the movie. The media publishes or broadcasts stories that say that horror films influence people to ...
He takes Evey back to his hideout and shows her his demolition of the Old Bailey building. After a while, she leaves V’s hideout and rushes to Gordon’s house, her former boss at BTN. After being at Gordon’s for a while, they’re both captured and taken to prison. Evey is tortured for information about V’s whereabouts when she overcomes her fears and is released. The workers for the Chancellor (The Finger Men) play a very important role in the movie, because they spend the majority of the movie hunting down V, trying to track his movement and guess what he’s trying to do next.
The Chancellor thinks their job’s a lot easier than what it is because he is very cocky. He is over confident because he has the whole country at his feet, because he is the head of a totalitarian government that has complete control. When the 5th of November is just around the corner V sends thousands of Guy Fawkes mask to the public for them to join him in his attempt to blow up the Big Ben and Parliament. The movie is set in the near future in London. We know it is set in London because the Chancellor of England often appears in the movie; V’s planning to blow up Parliament and Big Ben.
Some of the other locations are Lark Hill, the underground train complex and V’s hideout The movies main conflict is V and the people of England against the totalitarian government plus the blowing up of the Old Baileys and Parliament plays a key factor. The government are trying to track down and kill V, and are struggling for the majority of the movie. Another conflict is Evey trying to understand why V is carrying out the bombings and her feelings for him. One of the most important scenes is V blowing up the Old Bailey’s.
This is because it shows the world that V means business when it comes to finishing what Guy Fawkes failed. The event gets the government on their toes because the government has control over everything, and isn’t used to something going wrong. It is also important in shaping the audiences interest because it is at the very start of the movie. It would get a lot of the audience wanting to watch more of the film because it gets the audience thinking, “It can only get better”
The Essay on Guy Fawkes
Fawkes Guy, was one of the greatest conspirator in the Gunpowder Plot. Fawkes, pronounced fawks Guy, English conspirator, born in York. A protestant by birth, he became a Roman Catholic after the marriage of his widowed mother to a man of Catholic background and sympathies(Miller 578). In 1593 he enlisted in the Spanish Army in Flanders and in 1596 participated in the capture of the city of Calais ...
In conclusion, it was a very good movie; I would recommended anybody in-between 12 and 25 to see it, and the majority of males and people who like explosions and action, mystery or sci-fi movies. The main weakness that the movie has is that its story line will be very confusing for most. This movie taught me a lot about Guy Fawkes and what he did. It will do the same for most people because Guy Fawkes isn’t really that well known out of England. Rating Likes out of 5. Would have got 5 Likes if it wasn’t so confusing Rating Chart – Terrible – Patchy – Worth A Look – Very Good – Cant Miss It
