Visual Basic profile What programming languages were made for? Their aim was accomplishing the intercourse between the man and computer. Computer is not a living being but very complicated machine. The only language it can understand is a machine-language code. On the very age of the computer and programming era people communicated with machines with the help of these codes. But it was very complicated and people started to develop such languages, which can be easily understand by human beings. Nowadays, exist great variety of programming languages.
They differs form each other and serve different aims. Visual Basic is one of the programming languages. Dan Mabbutt states Although VB.NET is gaining ground fast, VB 6 remains the most popular programming environment in the entire history of the world! But even if it wasn’t as great as it is, it’s still the best place to start learning about programming.(Learn Visual Basic Version 6, Part 1: VB 6 is The King) Ill try to explain why Visual Basic is the best language for beginner. The original BASIC (“Beginner’s All purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) was designed by Kemeny and Kurtz at Dartmouth College in 1963 as a language to teach people how to program. Many professional programmers still think that Visual Basic is the best programming environment. Some people think that Visual Basic can be perceived as serious system for modern application development.
They say that Visual Basic is useful only for beginners and is not flexible enough and is rather slow. In other words using the Visual Basic is an undermining of ones authority. Such position is wrong and if you do not believe me I have a confirmation. Dan Appleman, famous VB guru, pointed that The magnitude of the change is such that the transition to VB.NET is likely to be measured in years rather than months and for some applications, it may not make sense to switch at all.(History of Visual Basic Development) Visual Basic is an important step in programming language development. Now there is no program writing as it was in previous decades. Nowadays exists such thing as designing of applications.
Nowadays, education is not just all about writing in the blackboard and explaining afterwards, it needs to capture the enthusiasm of the students to be able to learn. Learning may be done in many ways, like seeing, hearing, and experiencing things first hand. Students are fun of reading books, watching and some are interested in grammar especially in learning foreign languages. ( ...
It is appropriate to say that programmers now are designing engineers of program devices and applications. You know, they are real artist. David I. Schneider states that Microsoft Windows not only promote the most easy and intuitive way of working with PC. If you create application with the help of Visual Basic it means that you make it not only for Windows, but also with the help of Windows and like Windows. This is one of the distinctive features of VB. But it doesnt mean that Visual Basic is an easy language to learn. You need to have some basis.
(An Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic, June, 2002) In Visual Basic visual programming is incarnated. You main task is to create a working sphere and then design the application you need to. Every Visual Basic program must be in some kind of file ‘container’. In the case of Word VBA macros, that container is the (‘.doc’) Word document. Word VBA programs can’t run without Word and you can’t create standalone (‘.exe’) Visual Basic programs like you can with Visual Basic 6. But that still leaves a whole world of things you can do.
A variable in programming refers to a block of memory reserved to hold specific data. A variable is so named because the programmer can change the data contained in the memory block as need permits. The variable is assigned a name by the programmer that is used any time the variable is referenced or manipulated. In most programming languages the variable is also designated a data type that helps ...
(David I. Schneider, An Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic, June, 2002) Visual Basic is not very similar to Basic. The program and operating syntax is based on the higher-level language. Visual Basic execute both compiler and interpreter functions. It cant be used just as compiler or interpreter. As interpreter it has following feature: the program created in VB development can be progressed only in that development.
In this case VB use Threaded3p3Code technology, which help to check program syntax faster and error notification is given immediately. As compiler Visual Basic gives an opportunity to create and launch *.EXE files. But you must type the command FileMake ***.EXE by yourself. All in all Visual Basic is easy for using program development. It will be a matter of time for you to learn how to design programs. It is all depends on your skills and ambitions.
