Week 7 Group 4 1. If everyone in the United States had jobs would there still be unemployment in this country? It is known that in North Korea, for example, the rate of unemployment is 0%, yet many Koreans try to find job in China, as they are factually unemployed. This is to show that it is possible to eliminate an unemployment in U.S. by applying certain socialist recipes of how to deal with this problem. But than, we won’t be able to fully rely onto the official statistics, just like in case with every socialist country. The elimination of unemployment, by the act of government, can only be effective under the fascist dictatorship.
As history shows, this usually is being accomplished by engaging the unemployed masses in big social projects, like building roads. If this was the case, than we could say that there would be no reason for anyone to doubt the fact that, people having jobs corresponds to the elimination of unemployment in this country. 2. Is poverty a major side effect of unemployment and if so can poverty exist without unemployment? The poverty is a relative category. Whatever might account for impoverished life style in America, would be considered as a very decent way to live, in Third World countries. Therefore, I don’t see that there is a direct connection between poverty and unemployment. The poverty has always been a part of socio-political reality, in all the societies, throughout the history, while the term unemployment has only emerged in 19th century, with the rise of industrialism.

This allows us to conclude that poverty can exist without an unemployment. 3. Why does one of the worlds richest countries have one of the highest poverty rates? This is a direct result of much celebrated multiculturalism, rather than of anything else. There are simply a certain categories of people, for whom poverty is one of the ways to maintain their cultural identity. As a matter of fact, they don’t even consider it to be poverty. Also, with the collapse of Soviet Union, the capitalists do not feel threatened anymore by the union movement, therefore, the gap between poor and rich will continue to widen on a progressive scale.
It is important to understand that the America’s biggest ideal is not liberty, as we are being taught, but profit. Everything else comes secondary, including the welfare of the most impoverished people in our society. This explains why the poverty rates in America are so high. 4. Can high leaves of unemployment be linked to a raise in crime in the country? Yes, of course. One does not have to be a genius to understand that there is a link between the unemployment and crime.
Being unable to find job, will prompt individual to seek the alternative sources of income, such as selling drugs, for example. It is by no accident that the poorest parts of every city are strongly associated with crime. But it would be wrong to see the roots of crime growing out of problem of unemployment alone. There are many factors, such as racial, which we cannot avoid mentioning, while trying to find a real causes of crime. The problem of fighting crime in America is that its rise is associated with lowering of nation’s moral standards, while in fact, it is a direct result of government’s current immigration and economic policies. 5.
Is outsourcing the reason for such a high unemployment in the United States? Without a doubt, the outsourcing ads to the problem. The ridiculous salary wages in Third World countries cause American companies to move their production lines there. Such practice became a widespread in the last 10 years, after American government declared that it will support the concept of economic Globalism. The principle of Globalism is simple let rich get richer and poor get poorer, by the mean of more efficient exploitation of division of labour in the world. The companies that move their operation to the foreign countries have no choice but to lay off their workers in U.S., thus contributing to the rise of unemployment here. There is no a legitimate reason for outsourcing, except for the fact of boundless greed, on the part of those who promote it.
The Term Paper on Youth Unemployment And Crime
Opinions such as those found in the Smith Family Youth Unemployment Report (2003) which hypothesize that juvenile crime is directly connected to the high rates of youth unemployment in Australia cannot be neither accepted nor critiqued until there is a clear understanding of what the terms "Youth Unemployment" and "Juvenile Crime" mean in the context of this essay. In this essay youth unemployment ...
