Boredom occurs when there is little or no interest involved in the situation that is presented. You are bored because you are stuck in an instance that you don’t want to belong in, but yet you cannot do anything about it or are not doing anything about it. Your mind is not completely focused and it is difficult to concentrate and feel interested. When one is bored, their boredom can be seen through their work. It is evident when somebody is bored through their work because they are not knowledgeable about the situation that they are in. this is because their mind is not completely concentrated and they have a lack of interest. They work they produce there lack the knowledge and creativity that can be seen when one is interested.
Boredom can be related to “actualizing need” in many ways. When one is bored their actualizing needs are not being fulfilled. When boredom occurs you are not having a pleasurable time at that moment, and therefore you are not being self-fulfilled. In order to achieve your actualizing needs all of your maintenance needs must all be first fulfilled, and then you can slowly work on achieving your actualizing needs. We must have self-fulfillment, creativity, self-expression, and realization of our potential in order to have our actualizing needs fulfilled. Boredom takes away from us, and our minds, it blocks our interest and enjoyment in different conditions. When you are bored you are self-deprived, and when you feel self-deprived you are unable to have self-fulfillment which makes it difficult to completely achieve your actualizing needs.

Philosophy is related to boredom in several ways. Philosophy is the love for wisdom. Boredom occurs when there is little or no interest involved in the situation that is presented. When you are bored you are not interested at a particular instance, and therefore are not able to think properly about what is happening around you. Since you are not able to concentrate about the situation you are not always able to make wise and intelligent decisions. In order to make wise philosophical decisions one must be able to completely consider all of the facts presented and evaluate the situation, when you are bored, you are deprived from logically thinking through all of the facts and therefore cannot make as wise of decisions as possible.
