What is community service and what it means to me? Community service is a service that is performed by an individual for an organization or a community. Usually, community service is voluntary, charitable and/or used as alternative sentencing. Some examples of community service are participation in elementary of middle school activities, helping at a nursery house, cleaning up the streets, etc. Many high school students do community service as it is a good record and is very helpful when applying to college. Technically, it is one of the unwritten rules of getting into a good school. Community service teaches responsibility, planning, time-management and team-working. For me, it is a very good way of being useful to the community I live in.
It is nice to know that you have done a contribution to a well-being of your home-town.
