George W. Bush may not be a bad man; however, he is not a good president. Perhaps his presidency started to go downhill when the first hardship of his term came along, the September 11 attacks. Bush had launched a War on Terrorism shortly after. Bush ordered the Taliban to hand over Osama Bin Laden and when the best they could offer was to bring Bin Laden to be tried under Islamic law, Bush decided to invade. When in Afghanistan, the U.
S. took many prisoners who he believed were affiliated with Al-Queda or the Taliban. The problem with this was some of these so called accomplices to Al-Queda were children. Bush soon set his sites on Iraq after and he decided Al-Queda was the lesser of the two evils. Now, Al-Queda is regrouping and again becoming a threat. In early 2002 Bush said that the United States government had reason to believe that the Iraqis were developing weapons of mass destruction.
He announced in his State of the Union address that, “The Iraq regime has plotted to develop anthrax, nerve gas, and nuclear weapons for over a decade,” Based on that, the United Nations sent weapons inspectors to Iraq. After a thorough search the UN announced that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. This was not a sufficient answer for Bush, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. Bush sent people to again inspect Iraq for weapons of mass destruction and lo and behold there was nothing there, just as the UN had said. In March, 2003 Bush had declared war on Iraq; however, there was no authorization of force found with the United Nations. By doing this, Bush broke mostly all international war agreements.
The Essay on Mass Destruction Iraq Weapons Oil
According to people in Iraq and even the U. S the real reason for war wasn't weapons of mass destruction it was much more than that. First of all there hasn't been any weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq which was the main reason for why the U. S declared war and particularly invaded them. Terrorism is another reason that the Bush administration gave to go to war but instead of eliminating ...
Bush decided to withdraw from the World Court of Law and decided that the United Nations policies were totally irrelevant. Bush had then asked our allies for help and then criticized them for not blindly following him into the second war of his term. Because of this, most of our allies and the rest of the world hate the United States and view Bush as a loose cannon that threatens peace. And that is only his war record. Bush has made many tax cuts that mostly help the wealthy.
Money earned through stock ownership is not taxed but money that is earned by hardworking people that actual put in labor is taxed. Unemployment rate has increased from 4. 2% to 5. 6% since Bush has started his term.
Also over 2. 4 million jobs were lost over the last three years. In education, Bush passed the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
This act is supposed help schools perform on grade level and do better on state tests. However, he has not followed through and provided sufficient resources to help the schools to fulfill the standards of the act. In environment, Bush passed the Clear Skies Act that undermines the Clean Air Act.
The Clear Skies Act would allow over 9. 9 million tons of assorted toxins into the air than the Clean Air Act would have if it was still in place. Bush is not the right man for the presidential term of 2004-2008. This is for no reason other than he makes bad decisions for out country.
He doesn’t follow through with most of his policies and the other half he incessantly pours billion of dollars into. He is responsible for most of the debt the US is in. He also entered office with an extremely good economy and he is ending his term with one of the worst economic situations the US has ever been in. Bush is not a good candidate for president and he should not be elected again. If elected again who knows what state the US will be in by the end of another four years!
