Cheating is wrongful; it is deceitful, dishonest, and hurtful to yourself and most definitely those around you. Cheating can be anything from peeking at another students work during a quiz to plagiarizing, to having someone else do assigned work for you. Whether a cheater’s reasoning seems appropriate to them at the time, cheating is wrong under any circumstances. Anyone who cheats will have to suffer the effects when they are caught. Performing an act of cheating can hurt your future and can also hurt the futures of others that may have been involved.
A cheater is taking away from their abilities and the people you are cheating off of, but most importantly it is lying. A cheater is more than likely lying to themselves more than to the people around them. A person can only go so far before their lies catch up to them, begin to accumulate, and start to penalize you. To do well in school, we as a student body need to work hard, study hard, and do our own work. If a person is cheating they are not receiving the full benefit of the class/ classes they are in. People attend college to further their education so they can have a better job, which may lead to a better life and much needed morals. To cheat is to take the easy way instead of put in our own specific time.
To describe cheating in a single sentence, it is a lack of judgment and character. Perhaps the biggest mistake we can make is to cheat or use someone else’s work; the act is highly regrettable and sticks with our conscience for life. What cheating means to me is the lack of courtesy and honorable failure. The way I see it is if a student has not used their own knowledge to achieve their own, whether it be an ‘A’ or an ‘F’ than can be classified as a cheater. Though I have my own opinion, I also believe that it is usually defined and interpreted by many people as the way a person procrastinates something until the last minute of the due time. A cheater is either lazy or taking desperate measures.
Vietnamese Parents Time Student
I sit in solemn silence, wondering if I should even bother with this essay. I am not the ideal Vietnamese child; I am nothing special. Since I was born, English has been my primary language. It is the language I think in, the only language I can express my true emotions. I am an American-born Vietnamese child, proud of my heritage, yet forever attempting to grasp it. I merely know this: my morals ...
Someone who you could never perceive as a cheater may be under stressful circumstances and ultimately made a poor decision. The same poor decision, if discovered, has the ability to take away trust and friendships. Time with proof of worthiness is the only solution to regain trust and set the situation straight. Many students take advantage of copying someone else’s work whenever they are given the chance. Other times, students will simply have someone else do their work and turn it in as their own, not realizing the effects this behavior can create.
This creates a lack of creativity, no sense of responsibility and the students will never acquire new knowledge. Minor integrity issues can lead to cheating which can cause a vicious cycle and I am prepared to say that I am no longer a part of that cycle. I have come to realize my mistakes and definitely do not wish to repeat them.
