In this essay I will be talking about why The Industrial revolution happened there and then. The essay will mainly consist of which factors helped cause the Industrial revolution and conclude in me stating which factor I find affected the Industrial revolution the most. I will begin by explaining what the Industrial Revolution is, when and also where it took place. The term Industrial Revolution is the name given to the sudden enlargement of Britains industry in the late 18thand early 19th centuries. The range of factors that helped cause the Industrial revolution are things such as plenty of raw materials. This is proven by: railways and machines were now made much faster and easier because now there were enough materials needed to make iron and steel which was the main metals of railways and machines.
There were new industries and the population was growing giving extra labour to work in the industries. Cotton business booming and spinners couldnt work fast enough to make the cotton into yarn which was supplied to them. There was enough coal to drive stem machinery in factories. Another thing is Britains population was expanding. This can be proven by: the growing population of people provided the extra labour needed to work in the industries. Many businesses profited because the more people there were the more people would buy, giving businesses more money.
The Term Paper on Industrial Revolution 28
... hardly be avoided. Before the industrial revolution, Manchesters population constituted about 6,000 people.Following the population surge, by 1844 Manchester ... by several thousands of workers who worked in the wool industry and fully depended on the jobs ... political revolution, the industrial revolution was inevitably going underway. Such superiority of England was conditioned by several factors. First ...
Also there were many new ideas and inventions. This can be proven by: There were many people who were individuals, industrialists and inventors. These people saw how to make business out of other peoples new inventions. Arkwright perfected his own spinning machine this one was much simpler to operate than the jenny. Also Arkwright made the spinning frame and then made it known as the water frame. The water frame became very successful.
Several more machines were installed in the factory and then more mills were built, at Cromford and around Britain. A factor that can also be counted is that Britain had a food surplus. This can be proven by: They grew more food to feed the growing population, particularly the town population, which did not grow its own food. The profits made by some farmers and landowners were invested in industry or in transport improvements such as canals. Farmers and farm workers earned more and so had more money to spend on goods produced by industry. Another thing is that Britains transport improved. This can be proven by: Better transport made raw materials cheaper, and made the supply more reliable. Better transport also enlarged the markets and made the finished goods cheaper. Better transport allowed new ideas and inventions to spread quickly. A new way for transporting goods easily and cheaply was by using water transport like rivers and seas.
The Bridgewater Canal was a new idea helping transport move along much faster and was much more convenient for people. Also another thing is overseas trade in Britain was becoming much more popular. This can be proven by: People involved in overseas trade made money, which was invested in developing British industry and transport. New supplies of raw materials were opened up, such as cotton from America. A big new market was created for British goods overseas. These meant new factories were needed and new jobs were created.
The Essay on Number Of Homeless People Housing Increase Population
Homelessness, condition of people who lack regular legal access to housing. Homelessness has been recognized as a significant social problem in the United States since the early 1980 s, when an increase in the number of homeless people was caused by a weak economy and cuts in federal aid for housing and income assistance. Other periods of increased homelessness also have occurred many times in ...
More ideas came through new countries. The overseas trade in the late 18th century had a great effect on Britain because it brought in raw materials, new imports such as sugar and coffee. It also provided many new jobs by creating a market abroad for British goods. The factor that I have chosen to think is the most important is that Britains population is expanding. This is because the more people there was the more they could buy, this gave the businesses more money. The growing population of people provided the extra labour needed to work in the industries.
Also a piece of evidence is that Arkwright tried to make people who used invention and became very unpopular. But he also became very rich. I think that the population growth was the most important because if there wasnt excess population then there wouldnt be enough people to grow the surplus food or to extract more raw materials. The more people there were the more overseas traders giving a profit. Also the more people there were the more new ideas and inventions could be thought or made. Also some people dont believe that population is the most important factor because people didnt have enough money to buy the products made by Britains industry.
Also the new industries were mostly built in places were there was not enough people to work in the factories. I dont believe this because the majority was poor yes, but they provided the extra labour to make the products for the population who can afford the products and this will make a profit. I did not choose the other factors for many reasons. Such as for the raw materials they were expensive and slow to transport as they were not where they were most needed. Raw materials were also very difficult to extract and took a lot of time and money. Even though these raw materials had been available for thousands of years there was no Industrial Revolution then.
Such as for new inventions and ideas new inventions were always risky it could be great or it could fail and you could a lot of money. Money was the most important thing needed to develop new ideas. Arkwright got a patent for his invention which made him unpopular but rich. As for the farmers getting surplus food some landowners actually tried to stop industry developing in their area. Many of the improvements in agriculture happened long after the changes in industry had started. Also as Britains overseas trade was expanding Industrial developments began well before the great improvements in transport. Profits from trade were sometimes spent on land and property instead of being invested in industry. So in conclusion I am saying that population expansion is the most important factor and the other factors arent as important for all the reasons given above and much more.
