My opinion on illegal immigration is that I don’t support it. The United States is pretty much the land of opportunity which makes people from all over the world want to come here but coming through the ”back door” is wrong. If they go through the steps of becoming an American citizen the correct way than i’m sure most Americans I think will be okay with that. Illegal Immigrants hurt people who are already struggling by coming her illegally. The number one way illegal immigrants hurt people is by taking jobs. I was doing some research and I found out that in 2008 and 2010, illegal immigrants gained a total of million jobs as Americans were losing them. Another thing I found out is that since they have no legal records, they pay no direct taxes, receive free housing, education, health care, and food stamps.
Illegal Immigrants receive federal housing which makes struggling Americans and legal citizens stuck waiting for a spot. Also, according to the department of education, all students legal or not are entitled to a public education. This in my opinion is wrong since public schools are already financially struggling. That means that because of these students, the school board is forced to pay for more teachers, textbooks, free lunches, etc. Recently my school announced that students will be getting laptops for every student. Due to the act, the board will have to get more laptops for the other students which means that they must pay more money for them. This is my opinion on illegal immigration.
