Imagine teachers carrying guns in school. School boards are trying to reduce the amount of shots fired in school, how will adding more guns achieve that? Although guns have been used for protection for decades, they will only cause more harm if used by teachers. Protection on school grounds is undoubtedly essential, but adding more guns will ultimately lead to a more dangerous environment. Teenagers are constantly playing video games; they love the challenge of playing a difficult level and the feeling of success after they win.
As an example, a group of students in South Elgin High School, located in South Elgin, IL, started fires in the boys bathroom, and continued to do so for several days. They liked the increasing challenge of repeating their plan. If teachers begin to carry guns, it provides more of a challenge for kids to overcome, which they will gladly take on.
