As far as workplace ethics is often explored as a guiding philosophy consisting of a set of moral principles and values, it has its own advantages: credibility (because employees prefer working with people they can trust), credibility (the employees believe you), efficiency (the process of decision making in ethical environment is faster and more economical), high morale, loyalty, personal satisfaction (the employees enjoy the workplace environment), etc. The employees face ethical situations very often. All kinds of decisions, concerning the relation with the customers, communications with competitors, and everyday communication with co-workers can arouse ethical situations. Although the vast majority of ethical situations are solved effectively, there are some of them that become problematic, as far as the problem and appropriate ethical solution are not always obvious. In order to make correct ethical decisions, the employees should be aware of such ethical rationalizations like Its not unethical, if: Its legal, Im just following orders, my job is on the line, its for a good cause, everyone does it, it benefits my family, Ive got it coming, its not for me, Im just fighting fire with fire, Im not so bad as long as others are worse, I dont get caught, no one is really hurt, its the only way I can win, it was necessary to win, its just a friendly gesture, etc. The employees should remember that they are the companys most important and most valuable resource.
