1. The federal government’s largest housing construction program for the poor has squandered hundreds of millions of dollars on stalled or abandoned projects and routinely failed to crack down on derelict developers or the local housing agencies that funded them:
Our society has been molded into a selfish culture. Men and women who are well-off financially take advantage of others to accumulate more money in their bank account. Even though they do not need any more money to pay bills, they like the fact that they can place a title on themselves as richer than others. For example, the companies that control the construction of the housing for the poor take money to build the projects, but completely disregard actually building them. They seem to feel that it is unimportant for them to spend such money on housing for needy men and women. This is a great example of selfishness in our society today. These developers are so greedy with money, that they would steel tax payers’ money for themselves, instead of for needy men and women who are in need of shelter. I am completely disgusted with our world today, and mainly with the people that corrupt it.
2. Representative Paul D. Ryan made a budget proposal that would take $30 billion out of the farm program over the next decade as a budget cut:
Today, our society has been placed in a position where it is necessary for us to budget ourselves. It is necessary to make budget cuts on things that are unnecessary, because we are currently in debt. It is a known fact that the United States is a debtor nation, meaning that the US owes money to other nations. In order to make budget cuts, we leave the thinking process up to our representatives. This was a horrible idea in this case. Instead of cutting the budget of something less important, Paul D. Ryan decides to cut the budget for farming. I feel this action is senseless. This is so, because food is a main source of nutrition for all, and it is important for us to maintain or crops correctly. Instead of cutting jobs such as the rich men and women who sit in big chairs and desks all day, Paul wants to go for our food supply. Obviously, Paul is one of those men and women who sit in big chairs all day. Again we can see a greedy society. These are the types of men and women that disgust me the most in our world today.
