World Situation Where is this world going? As we start the new century, many are looking back over the last 100 years. What do we see? More wars than can be counted. Only in the 2nd World War one hundred million people died. Right now, there are 30 serious wars in progress. AIDS is sweeping many parts of the world. 10 million children are involved in the sex industry around the world! One million children enter child prostitution every year.
40,000 of the 100,000 prostitutes in Bangkok are 14 or younger. In Sri Lanka there are at least 10,000 boy-prostitutes, who receive one dollar per day. Although some illnesses have been beaten, others have found new resistance. Malaria kills 3 million children a year. New types of tuberculosis are immune to drugs and difficult to treat. In Europe, nearly half of all marriages end in divorce.
Many children never have the love of two parents. 40 million babies are aborted every year worldwide. The twentieth century has been the century of refugees. Wars and famine forced 100 million to move from their homes. These facts speak for themselves. Everybody is effected in one or another way by the current events in the world. If we leave the situation as it is, our world will come to the end sooner than we know it.
Therefore, solving these problems does not concern a particular individual or a nation only; it concerns every single person on this planet. The question is: what exactly can we do about the world situation as a whole and each of the problems in particular? Two main causes of global problems are obviously poverty and immorality. Poor economies cannot deal with wretchedness themselves. Developed countries and world organizations are responsible for offering help to those in need. If there were enough money to vaccinate and treat African children from malaria, the 3 million who died of it could still be alive now. Also, the governments should be convinced to treat the above-described problems more seriously. This again, can be done through educational or obligatory measures imposed on those nations by influential international organizations. An example of such measures can be an ultimatum posed by the European Union to Ukraine about the abolishment of death penalty or impossibility of joining the EU in the future.
The Term Paper on Henry V’s Impact on the Hundred Years War
Henry V’s most important accomplishment was that of the creation of the treaty of Troyes, according to C. T. Allmand, “This was the most important treaty of the Hundred Years War”. This treaty secured the French crown for the English, achieving the goal Edward III possessed when he first invaded France. Henry V had two major areas of impact, his first campaign into France in 1415, in which he ...
Right now, there are no death penalties in Ukraine it worked. Immorality is probably the oldest problem on earth. It is not realistic to say that it will ever cease to exist. However, every person, who considers himself to be moral, should try to contribute to make this world better. For example, churches could help a lot in educating people about abortions and divorces. In poor countries there are many programs, which support financially those families who want, but cannot afford children. There is a program like this in Ukraine as well.
Unfortunately, not so many people know of its existence, and if they did, who knows how many lives could have been already saved. I think that if educating the new generations as well as the older ones about the present shocking world situation were a priority for TV channels and newspapers, the above-mentioned statistics would be much lower now. Because they have all the comforts in their lives, so many people are just not aware of how bad the situation in the outside world really is. It is a common belief that one person cannot make a difference. I am sure of the opposite. I think that we all can make a difference it is a question of how bad we want it. Even if it is not in the power of one person to feed a poor country, he can vote for someone who will be.
Even though one person cannot make all the others moral people, he can make an effort to educate and change them. However, the most effective way to achieve something is to unite with people who have same ideas as you do, and than changing of the world for better really becomes realistic!.
