Gone are the days, when kids used to run around the way they want, eat whatever they felt like, sleep whenever they wanted….I always wonder, If we as children enjoyed our childhood better than our kids now?
Our childhood days were never controlled by any external factors…we were neither overloaded in school nor at home…Our mom’s were not as over protective as we are now….When I was back at home, a couple of months back, I got pretty nostalgic….
There were days when we used to wander around in streets in our cycles for hours together…Those street side vendors selling mangoes and amlas…the ice candies in different flavours…The milk ice was then a very costly affair…If someone gave me 25 paise…I did not know how to spend it…! Those small chocolates that were available for 5 paise each…Holidays meant going to Granny’s house and playing along with a dozen cousins! Never were my parents at the back of me, trying to instruct something for whatever I did, unlike me! Rangoli and Chitrahaar were great means of time pass! Beach and parks were the only places of recreation! Occasional visits to the Zoo, meant Dad has a lot of free time! Holiday homeworks meant writing the question paper once with all the answers! Never do I remember, taking a model of the Globe or a presentation on power point, even in my 12th Std! No tuitions, so no tuition homework! Flying kites with fellow friends in the terrace, was another great means of entertainment! To think of it, we had less means of technology and recreation, but we enjoyed them to the fullest! The mud toys, the small wooden toys formed a great Kitchen set! Used to play in mud for hours!

On the other hand, todays kids have a whole lot of projects to do in a holiday of just 10 days! Model of a computer in thermocol, learn the names of the seven wonders of the world…and the list goes on! Television and Computer are the greatest means of recreation, yet again, promptly interrupted by mummy every now and then! I keep instructing her as much as possible, Watch that, Don’t see this…do that…don’t do this…wow…I at times wonder, How on earth, can I keep instructing someone constantly??!!!
Papa, Pani Pooris, from the roadside vendor?? Oh no, Who knows what water he uses….Look at his hands, How dirty they are!! Papa, Toffees….No, not at all, Your teeth may decay..! papa, Chips…they are junk food…! Papa, Maggi…Not good at all! Everything that a kid wants to eat…we have some reason to deny it!
Ok…now that’s done….Now a days Kids have such beautiful cycles…only to park them in the Garage…! Papa, Cycling…Who will accompany you? Don’t go alone..you may fall down! Papa, Wanna play in the park, Its so full of dust! Papa, Flying Kites…What if you fall down, the thread might hurt you! Papa, Ludo?? Who will accompany you…Papa has a lot of work….Papa, Stories….I don’t have time dear! Zoo…The climate is so bad…we cant go out now!
On top of all this, Kids are all enrolled in different camps, that teach abacus, computers, photoshop….They have no time to sleep…and do things the way they want! Most of them don’t even interact with their cousins once in a year!
Woah…So, the list and the list of NO’s go on and on! Understandable, that the world is not as safe as it used to be when we were kids! In an attempt to protect our kids, we only seem to crush their smallest of wishes! The innocence and the childhood in the kids, are short lived! Time can never get back those things for us once they are gone! With the increased pressure on kids and the parents, the victim is none other than our Chotus!
We, ofcourse, need to protect our kids..but not crush their innocence! I have decided, that I let her sleep as much as she can in her holidays! Let her eat whatever she wishes…Treat her with her favourite, pani pooris…let her watch as much TV as she can…..Go for cycling along with her…Take her to the park every day….I know, parents are very very busy now adays, but a kid’s happiness revolves around what she wishes to do and her wishes come true!
Essays Dot Don Words Day
When i was little and had no sense, I took a wiz on an electric fence. It hurt so bad that it shook my balls and I took a crap in my overalls. This essay is fake please do not use it. One time I looked in the mirror while i was naked. I saw up my butthole. It blew my fucking mind. Then one time at band camp i stuffed a flute up my pussy. The metal gave me a rash and it has closed up since then. Ah, ...
Did you notice…the my last 3 – 4 lines…Nows that a modern Papa…who keeps deciding what she would let her kids do…not let the kids be themselves!
This time, I am sure, I would make my kid’s childhood as memorable as mine! Would you?
