I attended the Chamber Orchestra Concert on November 6, 2012. This was there first concert. They played three pieces during this concert. The first piece that they played was Bassoon Concerto in F Major, Op.75 written by Carl Maria von Weber. The second piece that they played was The Lark Ascending written by Ralph Williams. The last piece that they played was Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 written by Felix Mendelssohn.
Bassoon Concerto in F Major, Op. 75 written by Carl Maria von Weber was an enjoyable piece to listen to. The strings play first during the beginning and then the woodwinds join in. The orchestra slowly crescendos and then the bassoon comes in and plays the solo accompanied by the orchestra. I felt that this was a very upbeat piece of music to listen to. The second piece was The Lark Ascending. The piece starts out by violins playing. As the violin soloist comes in the orchestra starts to play piano. The soloist starts off playing forte and then she slowly crescendos and decrescendos. The orchestra comes back in playing mezzo piano and then they crescendo. At the end of the piece it is just the soloist playing and it ends as the soloist decrescendos very slowly. The last piece that they played was Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 by Felix Mendelssohn.
This piece was a lot faster and upbeat then The Lark Ascending. You hear the strings playing in the beginning and then the woodwinds join in. Then, the strings and woodwinds start to trade off rhythms. The tempo in the first movement is Allegro Vivace. The second movement starts off with the strings playing just like in the first movement. Then, the cellos start to play a steady eighth note rhythm and then the flute and oboes come in. This movement ends by the cellos plucking notes. The third movement starts out with the violins playing and then the flutes and bassoons come in. In the middle of this movement you get to hear the horns play with the strings playing softly in the background.
The Essay on Second Movement Piece Played Piano
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something ...
This movement ends with the flutes playing a couple notes. The last movement is a lot faster than any of the other movements. The violins start out playing fortissimo and then the flutes come in and they start to play sixteenth notes. In the middle of this piece the horns play a fanfare like style with the violins playing with them. As the piece ends the violins decrescendo as someone hits the timpani. My favorite piece at this concert was the last one. I liked this piece because it was the fastest and it was the most pleasing to listen to for me. I liked the last movement of Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 because I liked the rhythms that were being played throughout it.
I also liked how the strings and woodwinds would trade of rhythms. Like the violins would play one rhythm and then the flute or horn would play a different one. I liked it because it added a neat affect that kept me interested in the piece. My least favorite piece was the Lark Ascending. I didn’t really like this piece because I just felt as if it was too slow for me to listen to. It is a piece of music that I would listen to if I was really sad and depressed or if I was doing homework. It was a great piece of music but it just didn’t appeal to me like it could have to others. I would have preferred a different piece for them to play.
The first piece that they played was a fun piece to listen to. It wasn’t as fun as Symphony No. 4 but it was still a good piece. They played all three of these pieces really good and I didn’t see anywhere where they could have improved. They were all in tune, had good dynamics and had good balance between all of the instruments. When I went to this concert there wasn’t a lot of people that went to it. They had a good size audience but it was nowhere near to being sold out. In todays society I don’t think people appreciate music as much as they should.
The Essay on Rap Music Rappers Listen People
In our society today, music is a very important part of our lives. With all the many different types of music out there, it allows everyone to enjoy the style they prefer. Even though people of all ages listen to music, teenagers for the most part are the main audience in today s music world. For the past 20 years, rap has played a major role in the lives of teenagers, but it had seemed to fade ...
I believe in todays society since we have other forms of entertainment such as the radio, television, and sports people don’t pay attention to orchestras as much as they did back then when all people had was operas and orchestras to keep them entertained. Also, I believe that people who have never played an instrument don’t understand what it takes and how much effort it takes to be able to play those kinds of pieces. We still listen to Western art music events because the composers of the classical era influenced composers today and the forms of music are still being heard in some of todays music.
