Essay # 2
High School and College Students
A good education is an important part of one’s life. To achieve a good education, one should attend both high school and college. Although some people think a high school student has a lot in common with college students. After a student graduate from high school, it’s good to enroll into college to be become a better student and notice that there are many differences between them. A few of these differences include the attitude and responsibilities of the teachers and students and the amount of work given to the students.
To begin with, there are many ways in which the attitudes of the teachers in high school students differ from the attitudes of the teachers in college towards other students. In high school teachers seemed to be stricter, rude, and have more rules for the high school students to follow. The teachers were also responsible for making sure each student from high school obeyed these rules to the fullest extent and carried out disciplinary actions for those who did not obey them because for high school students it’s mandatory to pass. One example in which a teacher has taken on a disciplinary action was when a high school student was tardy or skipped their scheduled they will get caught and send them straight to detention or principal office. In college, student’s professors wouldn’t care if the students skip class or being tardy because it’s not like they send you to the office they will just drop you or give you a zero for the missing assignments with no make-up work.
The Homework on Middle School vs. High School
... to middle school, in high school, students are granted much more freedom. Students can choose which classes they will take, what teachers they have, ... and salads. Just in case the school food is not good enough, many high schools often allow upperclassman to leave for ... college. Not only is the work different between the two environments, but so is the amount of freedom students get. In middle school, ...
Next, High school and college students are alike in some ways but different. They are similar because you still have to go to class, do class work, homework, take exams, quizzes, and study hard. They are different in such ways because for college students you can have cell phones in class, walk out of class without asking and wear anything to class. It was times when there was no eating or drinking in class for high school students, in college they wouldn’t care if students eat. In college, the student’s professors are different because they basically treat the college student’s like an adult. The professors for college students expects the students to do the work and don’t have constantly tell the students to do the work because it’s a do or die choice they either do it or fail because they have to maintain a minimum 2.0 or higher GPA. For high school students their force to get the work done in time before class is completely over.
Last, another difference between high school and college students would be the best atmosphere. Even though high school teachers are strict to the students, it doesn’t seem to change how seriously some of the high school students take their studies. The high school students do behave sometimes as elementary school children. They mostly argue and fight among themselves in the cafeteria, hallways, and even outside the school building. However in college, students professors wouldn’t care if the student didn’t show up to class also even do their work because the students are costing their financial money to go to waste when the student fail and has to pay back their money. College students never fight anywhere on campus it never happens because they are adults not children.
In conclusion, even though high school and college students are very different, there still similarities they share. High school prepares you for college. It is a full time of new experiences and lessons. College is a new chapter in life, and also a new beginning. In a way, college is a mature version of high school. High school and college are what the students make of it because only they could find similarities and differences.
