A teacher plays an important role in society. Teacher shares an important responsibility in preparing young people to lead successful and productive lives. Traditionally, teachers prepare lessons, manage the classroom and evaluate students. But that is not where it ends, being a teacher is much more than just fulfilling lesson plans. They also carry the role of an alternate parent, counsellor, disciplinarian, book keeper, role model, planner and many more. In this era, teacher’s role is a complex profession. An effective teacher understands that teaching involves wearing different hats to make sure every student receive a quality education. Teaching may seem like a simple and easy job, but a teacher takes quite a number of risks when making sure that he/she provides nothing but the best to his/her students.
Teachers make decisions bearing in mind the needs of each and every single student. It is teacher’s main duty to come up with a lesson plan, which actually means having a couple of plans and backup plans in case one doesn’t work out as expected. Since not all students have same IQ level, or are or fast learners. The teacher observes the class and comes up with a perfect plan where everyone is able to participate and learning outcome is the same. A teacher is a counsellor, a lecturer and a good learning. Teachers not only teach students, they also learn at the meantime. Planning
Planning has always been the first stage of every job. On the other hand there is a lot of confusion about planning. Classroom game or activities are not a lesson plan. In fact, there is no need for a lesson plan to ever be seen, touched, considered or dreamed of by students, and nor does it even need to exist on paper or disk, though it usually does. A lesson plan is a teacher’s plan for teaching a lesson. It can exist in the teacher’s mind, or on one or more attractively organised sheets of A4 paper. In other words, a lesson plan is the teacher’s guide for running a particular lesson, and it includes what the students are supposed to learn, how the goal will be reached and a way of measuring how well the goal was reached in the form of a test, worksheet, homework etc.
