Running head: ASSIGNMENT # 5 Assignment # 5 June 28, 2009 Assignment # 5 When I was a child, I had a lot of favorite books. I liked to read and I spent a lot of time reading various books about adventures, vampires, pirates, animals, fairy-tales and legends. My favorite books were Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, story of a young King Arthur, Mary Poppins, Robert Louis Stevensons Treasure Island and, of course, Harry Potter written by J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter series were in my favorites. I do not know how the author does it, but Rowling has a way of creating and telling stories that is just really magical. The characters were so real and deep that I was spending days and nights reading the books.
While reading the novels, I felt like I was side by side with Harry Potter in his magic world. I was discovering amazing world of Hogwarts Academy, a school for wizards, I got acquainted with Harry Potters friends, Hermione and Ron, and was captivated by their adventures from the very beginning of the novel to the very end. This was a magically delightful and captivating read. It was really one of the best series I have ever read in my life. The story of Harry Potter was grabbing attention from just few minutes into it made me lost in amazing events, magic and mystery. I think, one of the reasons why this book became my favorite was the fact that the author managed to create kid characters acting and talking like real kids.
These characters did almost the same things I did; they needed to do their homework, to go to school, brush their teeth, study exams They were real like I was. I wanted to read more about Harry Potters adventures, as I needed to read the series to find out what will happen next. I think, Harry Potter was one of the best books I had read in years..
