I heard about you deciding to add a class to the schedule next year. I also heard that you wanted student suggestions and, I think that I have a very good suggestion. I would like to see a study hall added to the schedule next year. My reasons for wanting this class added are: grades for a majority of students would go up, it would give us time to do make-up work or homework we might not have time for after school, and it would also encourage students to try harder in school. First, if we had a study hall added to our schedules then I think that a majority of our class’s grades would improve. If we had a class in school with free time to do our studying it would definitely help.
My cousin Lacy used to never study for anything but now since she has a study hall period her grades have gone from low B’s and high C’s to high A’s and B’s. 45% of my cousin’s classmate’s grades have improved also. My older brother plays baseball, he is in one act play, and he has to take care of his show cows. He is always struggling to keep his grades above failing because he doesn’t have time to do all of the stuff listed above and homework. He said that if he had a study hall class then he wouldn’t have a problem with his grades. Finally, I think it would encourage students to try harder in school. A lot of teachers don’t realize that they’re not helping students enough in regular class. When teachers accidentally ignore or put-off students they don’t realize how much it could affect the student.
