There actual opinion is that, if anything, violent video games reduce violence in the real world because they let out their aggression on the game. This may actually prove to be true. In Japan there are much more violent video games that are also much more graphic than in Australia and yet less violence in their country. Therefore any people that say that violent video games influence children and even adults to actually perform acts of cruelty on other beings are just point black wrong. There would also be quite a few difficulties in enforcing the rule. Mainly it would be maintaining the ban. The only way to make sure no one is playing the games is to have a special police section that deals with reports of violent video games.
Most police will jump from regular sections to this one because it seems so much easier. We will be losing police from normal sections like crashes and murder and the Government will probably lose money paying the police to this job because they will demand to be payed a reasonable amount or else no police will be interested in the job. The Government might even increase taxes so they don’t lose so much money. Either way it will be a difficult job because after being so addicted to such games it will be hard to not play them when you get bored and there will be lots of reports for the police and complaints to the Government. There are some ridiculous statements made from the people that actually wish for it to be banned that it causes emotional disorders, brain declines, affects school performance and lowers IQ, makes you an outcast, slow brain wave and heart, more harmful than TV, realistic blood and gore can traumatize some people.

Well firstly it does not cause emotional disorders that is scientifically unlikely, as for brain declines they failed to mention that we already have them and it won’t be any different, it can’ t possibly affect school performance unless it affects their homework and its up to parents to make sure they complete their homework, it is also scientifically impossible for violent video games to lower your IQ, and the statement playing violent video games making you an outcast doesn’t even make sense, slow brain wave and heart is a bit over exaggerated and in fact completely made up, and as for the claim that it is more harmful than TV well are they calling TV harmful and there is no evidence for this claim so it isn’t really relevant to the topic, and referring to the last preposterous statement that the realistic blood and gore can traumatize people is completely absurd, if hey haven’t been listening they would hear all the complaints made by citizens of Australia that it isn’t even close to realistic, and referring to the traumatizing part of the claim , well, that’s what age ratings were created for, they are carefully selected and blood and gore is not taken lightly in the selection process, most are rated ‘M’ at least.

So its obvious that Violent video games should not be banned and even professionals like Kierkegaard agree with this side of the issue and there are lots of worthy reasons to support it, especially since the other sides points have been revealed or what they truly are. And any IQ lowering or affects on school performance are parents faults not the games faults. And if we really think about this we will see that if violent video games should be banned then should videos, DVD’s, classic movies, games, shows, sports, media and much more. When will they draw the line, its ridiculous as you can see now, its just another part of our lives we are addicted to it just like we are addicted to sports, movies, shows, etc. So why are we suddenly picking out the bad parts of a part of our daily life. Just leave it alone since here is nothing the other side of this issue really have left since all their major points have been rebuttled. So its obvious now which path to chose, the scientifically supported side who actually have evidence to support this theory.
