Nowadays video games are very popular among young generation, because they are one of the largest entertainment ways in our society. This digital time spending is loved by millions of people all over the world, notwithstanding gender, age, and socioeconomic position. A recent study of children in their early ages found that nearly a third played video games every day, and that 7% played for at least 30 hours a week (“Video games: Cause for concern?”, 2000).
Moreover, modern video games have become extremely violent, sexual, and obscene (Grand theft Auto, Starcraft, The world of Warcraft, etc.).
violent video games are the most widespread games bought, because the gaming industry today is a raising multimillion dollar industry. The stage to which this industry has grown is unimaginable. The strategies that applied to build the games, the graphics (e.g. blood), and the quality of sound (e.g. screams) all make them quite irresistible among the younger generation. Though there is certainly benefit, with simple enjoyment, violent video games promote the idea of violence among young people, therefore they should be banned.
The most prominent benefit from such video games is that they are a good entertainment way. Everyone wants get some rest in their fast and busy life. Many years ago, when technology was not so progressed, people played only games like football, chess, etc. But now video games create an escape for the users, because people who come home from a long day at work, school or university can just relax and forget about some problems while playing. Teenagers can have fun with their friends. Nowadays online video games are very popular and available to everyone who has an access to Internet. There are a lot of websites specially designed to satisfy the game lovers. Most of the games can be played entirely free of cost. The main reason why violent video games should be banned is that they increase aggressive thoughts and angry feelings. First-person games, in which the player sees the action as if he was the main character, with exaggerated scenes of blood and murders can lead to criminal behavior and violence. Today video game graphics grow to become ever more realistic. The effects of violent video games are worse than effects of films because of the interactive element that exists in video games. The main role of a player in these games is to be an aggressor. The heartlessness and joy of killing innocent people reduce sensitivity to violence that can finally lead to a more violent society. When gamers used to kill in violent video games, it can make “real” death not seem so serious. People not only getting very good training in violence through the video games, but they are learning not to show compassion for human life. They also do not concern for their lives, because when you die in a video game, you can restart it and play again. But you can not restart your real life and for younger children this conception is harder to understand. For instance, accident in Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, shows us effect of violent games.
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold committed an assault murdering 13 and injuring 24 before turning the guns on themselves. It is known that Harris and Klebold both enjoyed playing the bloody, consisting of shooting and violence video game Doom. It was found that Eric Harris had customized that game so that there were two gunmen, each with extra weapons and the other people in the game could not oppose. For a class project, Harris and Klebold made a videotape that was similar to their customized interpretation of Doom. In the video, Harris and Klebold were clothed in trench coats, carried guns, and murdered school athletes. They represent their videotaped performance in real life less than a year later (DaGaetano, p.47).
The Essay on American Dream People Time Life
My Changed View of The American Dream I believe that my thought of the American Dream was more or less lumped around freedom. I feel that has remained intact, but at the same time I find myself analyzing these readings and noticing through time the American Dream changes for each person. I look at Robertson's writing in Banners on the Tower and I interpret his writings of Columbus in the New World ...
This accident shows how much violent video games influence on adolescents, they lead to aggressive behavior, angry thoughts and feelings.
Violent video games provide a high point of quick satisfaction. You are almost always being rewarded and when you lose you can easily begin to work on your goal again. And because of it people can become addicted to such video games and, of course, there are no benefits from it. These video games addicts are wasting their time and money on something that will not afford them the greatest accomplishment they can achieve. Some people can become totally addicted to video games and sit long hours in front of the computer without stopping or taking break, in consequence they do not go to work or school, do not eat properly and do not exercise enough. Video games addiction replaces other activities that people should do. And this can be troubling to parents during the academic year when children should pay attention to completing their homework. Also being addicted to computer games isolates people from outside world, causing emotional and social deficit due to immoderate time spent on computer games and due to a lack of interaction with family and friends. “We also found that amount of time spent playing video games in the past was associated with lower academic grades in college” (Anderson).

Andrew, Chuck, and Kevin played all night and skipped class the next day. They, along with thousands of others across the country, purchased Halo 2 at midnight the day the much-anticipated game was released in stores. Students and company employees called in sick that next day claiming the Halo 2 flu as their reasoning. Halo 2 is only one of a multitude of games distributed for use on Microsoft's ...
Violent video games cause lower grades and problems in academic achievement. And first of all it is because students waste most of their time on playing video games. A study by Drs. Stinebrickner and Stinebrickner in association the National Bureau of Economic Research concluded that first-year students whose roommate brought a video game to college studied, on average, 40 minutes less each day. Data showed that this significant decrease in study time caused first-semester grades to drop by 0.241 points on the 4.0 grade scale. A student who lives in near proximity to or actively enlists in video game play systematically does worse academically than students who do not play or live around video games (2008).
Violent video games have a bad effect on youth. But when it comes to lovers of such video games, they think that it is just a very fun time spending. However, violent video games are influencing teenagers to commit acts of violence. In these games youths get the experience of carrying a gun and using it for the wrong intentions. That is why the main role of a government is to protect its citizens from damaging themselves and society as a whole. Violent video games should not be even restricted; they should be banned, because people who play violent video games are at risk to engage in aggressive behavior. There would be no profit of restriction, because even most games have an age limit, kids are still finding ways to get the games.
