Summer, the smell of fresh-cut grass wafting through the air, the sound of the ice cream truck making its way through your neighborhood, or the sound of kids screaming, laughing, and jumping into the pool on a hot summer day. This is the only season you would see these things happening, and that what I love so much about it. There’s not a day during summer, that you cant find something to do and if your like me either stuck at school or work your wishing you were outside enjoying the beautiful weather. There is so many reasons why summer is my favorite season of the year but mostly because of the warm weather, spending more time with family, and of course our annual beach trip.
The first thing I think of when I think of summer is the weather. The warm weather is perfect for outdoor activities like the waterpark or pool for the kids and the river or grilling out for adults. The options are endless when the weather is beautiful with the sun out, not a cloud in the sky and a slight cool breeze. When it is cold outside no one feels like doing anything, especially walking out of the house. All you want to do is stay warm, bundled up in a blanket, with a warm drink. But during the summer when it is hot outside all you want to do is be outside jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool or if you don’t have a pool, a water hose will do. I think kids’ playing outside is important, I think they should get out and be more active, have some fun outside instead of sleeping all day or playing a video game all day. Summer weather to me just makes for a more productive, fun, and enjoyable day.
The Essay on Shakespeare Sonnet Compared To A Summer S Day
Shakespeare s sonnet deals with his redefinition of certain terms. Throughout this sonnet Shakespeare refers to beauty as an everlasting internal component. He is mocking this belief that many people have. In doing this he makes certain analogies that can be taken to have more than one meaning. I will analyze each aspect of Shakespeare s sonnet to support my thesis. Shakespeare begins the sonnet ...
During the summer I spend a lot more time with all my family because my siblings are out of school for summer so we do a lot more family gatherings. If not during the week, we always do something together on the weekends, whether we do a big cook out with friends and family or all load up and spend a weekend at the river. Whatever we do we take full advantage of the beautiful weather, at cookouts all the kids swim while the moms lay out and the dads drink beer and talk about NASCAR and who’s in the points lead. We usually end the night with smores and some more night swimming. When we go to the river all the girls soak their self in sun tan lotion, bake in the sun, while cruising down the Warrior River.
We usually stop in a slue where the water is still and knee board after all the kids had a turn and are exhausted, we stop and the kids get back in the water to swim some more while my dad grills hamburger and hotdogs. The ride back to the river house is the best part; every one is tired and calm. The sunset is going down, reflecting off the water and you can’t help but thank God for all you have in life and being able to enjoy this time with my family. Every year my family goes on an annual beach trip to Gulf Shores; we usually stay five days and four nights at Phoenix X. We save up a year in advance and start counting down the days until we leave.
On the drive down there no one can sleep because we are so excited to get there all the kids scream at the first sight of a palm tree, because they know we are getting close. After a long five hour drive we finally arrive and you can smell the salty air and feel the hot, sticky humidity. We all forget the bags and take off straight to the beach, kicking off our flip flops and just laughing and playing with one another because we are just so happy to be here together. We spend the next four days on the beach until the sun goes down then we finish the day off with fun activities, like putt-putt, go kart riding at our favorite place Crazy 8, and lastly making an important stop at one of those cheap souvenir shops so the whole family can get a air brushed t-shirt to add to the collection.
The Essay on A Summer Day
Driving across the bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard one sunny Saturday afternoon, I was overcome with the gentle breeze blowing through my open window and decided to stop for a little while. I pulled off the highway and parked the car. Upon exiting the car, I walked to the edge of the water and sat down. As I sat on the warm sand, I began to pick up handfuls of the sand and let it slowly filter ...
I treasure these beach trips and all the memories that are made on the trips because one day all of our lives with grow so busy we may not be able to make time for these trips. But for now I’ll take advantage of every minute of the time I get spend with my family not only on beach trips but every day. Use to summer was a break for me, I was excited to get out of school from summer break because I got to sleep in, not worry about homework, be up all hours of the night hanging out with my friends but now it means much more to me. Family is so important now; I have no break, between work, school, and raising my daughter.
When I go on these beach trips it will be for a weekend and I will cherish every moment I have down there. Summer to me is being able to get out and do more things together with my family that I don’t get to do when its cold outside because most of the time we are just sitting in the house not really interacting or communicating as much as we would while outside laughing enjoying each others company. Summer time is a time of simple pleasures and there never seems to be enough days to enjoy all of them. Because before you know it summer will be over, the weather becomes cooler, kids return to school, and you have another year to wait for the next beach trip and another year for them sweet summer days to return.
