Introduction
Every man should have been in love at first before getting married to his wife – or is that statement wrong? Every man should at the same time know that the woman he is married to is a different being altogether – is this statement wrong too? Men should accept that a marriage without love is not a complete marriage – does this make sense? It is in the hands of a man to make his home a happy and blessed home. For this study, let us start first with the Man’s Wife. What exactly can a man do to make his wife always happy and ever ready to love in return? In no particular order, using Sheri and Bob Stritof’s article as a guide, here are ten things that many wives want from their husbands and please, no matter your age or years of marriage; it is time to begin afresh! Note that these are “wants” – not emotional needs. As individuals, we are each responsible for filling our own emotional needs.
I. You Should Let Her Know DAILY that She Is Loved
Everyone wants to be pampered, caressed and accepted. Everyone wants to know they are loved. The best ways to say “I love you” are usually in simple, everyday, apparently unimportant ways like an unexpected hug or holding hands when you walk together. Or just a text message per day. Don’t forget the early-morning kiss and pats! Eph. 5:25-32, Gen. 2:24; 24:67; 2 Sam. 12:3; Prov. 5:18-19; Col 3:19; 1 Pt. 3:7
II. You Should Encourage Understanding and Forgiveness
There will be days when your wife will make mistakes or when she will be difficult to be around. No one is perfect. She both wants and deserves your willingness to understand and forgive her. Remember that no relationship can be sustained without forgiveness or understanding. It is a man’s duty to understand. Mt 6:12-15; 7:2; 18:21-35; Prov. 21:13; Mk. 11:25-26; Eph 4:32; Col 3:13 James 2:13; 1 John 3:10

III. You Should Encourage Conversation
Do not let your conversations with your wife dwindle to nothing but talk about your kids, your jobs, and the weather. Talk about everything and even nothing in as much as it makes her happy. Women enjoy talks and they live by their ears. Gen. 24:67, 26:8, Prov. 5:18,19; Eccl. 9:9; Isa 62:5
IV. You Should Be Willing Enough to Make Time for Her and Your Children
Having quality time with your wife and kids isn’t something that just happens. You have to create the time and space by not only making the plans but by following through. Time with those you love has to be a high priority for you. Your wife and kids should mean more to you than your work and money! Gen. 24:67, 26:8, Prov. 5:18-19; Eccl. 9:9; Isa 62:5
V. You Should Say ‘Yes” More than ‘No’
Think twice before saying “no” and you will be surprised at how saying “yes” can improve your relationships. You can push your wife and kids far from you if you develop the habit of always shouting ‘no’ to every issue. It is good to be assertive but you should likewise be loving and give reasons for decisions.
VI. You Should Listen Well
It is really demoralizing for your wife to share her thoughts and feelings with you and then realise that you did not actually listen to her. Your wife wants you to not only listen with your ears, but to listen with your heart. Songs 1:7, Gen. 21:9-14, Prov. 31:11
VII. You Should Constantly Give Affection and Kindness
How often do you say “please” or “thank you” or give your spouse an unexpected kiss or gift? Unfortunately, some married couples forget that being kind and affectionate to one another are keys to a successful marriage. Eccl. 9:9, Prov. 5:18; 18:22; 19:14; Mal 2:15
VIII. You Should Share Household and Child Rearing Responsibilities
One of the main reasons couples fight is conflict over who is doing what around the house. Chores and child care are not the sole responsibility of your wife. She should not have to ask or ‘beg’ you to do your share around the house. Lk. 11:11-12, Matt. 7:9
The Term Paper on My Wife And Kids
Television ranks as one of the most watched entertainment agents of all times throughout the world. It forms one of the most crucial means of communication used in the world today. An average American uses more than 33 percent of his time watching television than any other leisure activity. In most incidences, the television forms an important part of Americans’ life. Between the two genders, ...
IX. You Should Encourage Your Wife to Have A Day Off Now and Then
Do not protest about your wife taking a day off several times a month. This means that she will be free from worrying about what is happening with the kids, the house, the kitchen, and you. She deserves this break in her schedule and she needs to provide it for herself to be emotionally and physically healthy. You should take over when she rests! Not funny but powerful! Eph. 5:25
X. You Should be Committed to taking care of Yourself Both Physically and Emotionally
Many men are notorious for not taking care of themselves when it comes to health, hygiene and body issues. This is not fair to your wife. She is your lover not your mother. Take responsibility for your own health and physical concerns. Wash all necessaries every time (clothes, body, mouth, armpits, etc) and wear the right clothes, no matter how cheap! Lev. 14:8-9, 11:25; 13:6; 15:5-8; Exo. 19:10,14; Num. 8:7; Rev. 7:14; Lev. 8:6; 1 Pt. 3:21; Rev. 1:5-6, Num. 12:15, Lev. 8:33-35
Conclusion
NEVER FORGET THAT PROVIDING FOR YOUR HOME IS ANOTHER STRONG ISSUE. Many women do not get upset because of ‘lack of money’ if genuine love and understanding is in the home. Nevertheless, a good man will use everything in his life and this world to satisfy his wife and children so that his home can be wonderful and God-blessed! YOUR HOME IS BLESSED IN JESUS’ NAME!
