“A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”
“A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”
When you see you see a picture, what do you see? What does it mean to you? How does it make you feel? What do you see? That’s what comes to mind when you see a picture! “A picture is worth a thousand words”. This expression is trying to say that a picture tells a story just as well as a large amount of descriptive text. A picture gives feeling, meaning, and everyone sees a picture in their own way. A picture could give as much information as it could possibly give. From looking at one picture others are going have a different opinion about the painting. For example, when you look at a portrait of “The Scream “, what you see and what does it remind you of? How do you feel? I see that the man in this portrait is scared, furious, but at the same time feeling calm. The way his body is painted is wavy including the sky gives me a hint that he is yet feeling that way. The colors used in the painting especially. To me this represents his inner reaction when there’s an issue. Frustration, annoyance, and anger! Altogether it makes creates a scream.
Illustrations and graphics will improve my learning and will help children for whom I will write a non- fiction book to because yes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. By giving a lot of color and details to the picture it give a lot of information. Just about as much as a novel! Putting images into the book will make children including me think “outside the box” about how the picture means to them and what they see?
