After reviewing chapters six and seven I realized they did not help me that much in writing these papers, so my question is were they suppose to? Let’s find out. The three questions that were chosen to answer for this research is what are the pros and cons of buying Microsoft office versus downloading and using the open office for free? And the answer to that first question would be, the open office suite is free, and it creates documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. It has many extras like mail merge, macros, charting capabilities, and much more. “Open office works with an extremely wide variety of formats, including the open document Format (ODF) 1.2 standard, as well as documents created in Microsoft office 2007 and office 2008 for the mac. You can even export files to PDF. It won’t, however, work with the Newest Office 2007 formats such as, docx. At the moment that’s not a significant drawback, because those formats are rarely used. However, in the future this could cause some problems, so I’m hoping office 2007 formats will soon be handled as well.” P.gralla computer world, 2008.

Searching for information on Google is not like trying to find a needle in a haystack because Google is one of the best free search engines available. How many times do you hear someone tell you, if you need some information about anything Google it? People here that most of the time. The library of the 19th century was good, but not more efficient, because you can pull up information with the Google search engine a lot faster and get aspects of that information or topic from a number of sources on the web. “Google was founded with a clear vision in mind, to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

Also, the reason posting information about yourself on the internet has become a big concern and is a big deal for privacy is because, information posted on the internet is permanent. The blogs, pictures, and information you post on Facebook and twitter can come back and affect your future or life in general far as jobs or other important things like your career because a lot of employers monitor their employee’s behavior on the sites they visit, and what they post can be an issue. So, you have to be careful, responsible, and aware of the things you post on these social networks because companies are hired to watch what sites you visit online and send advertising based on your browser history. In regards to email being dead for teenagers the answer to this question would be yes, it seems teenagers have abandoned their email accounts to socialize more online with social networks like Ovoo and Skype. After raising six children and still having three at home, it is evident that they prefer sites like Facebook, and Ovoo and Skype. Some teenagers still use their yahoo because of the ability to video chat, and video calls. The teenagers prefer to instant message more, than the option of waiting for another individual to email them back, because the other sites capabilities are faster and more exciting and personal.
