Heroes
Some people tend to walk around in life waiting for “it” to happen. Others just need to find their talent or niche and go from there. A few people we can learn from are some of the characters from my favorite show “Heroes”. Claire, Peter, and Hiro are perfect examples of finding out what their talent is, who they are, and how to use their talent for good. We are all destined for greater things, be it somebody’s hero or friend.
Claire Bennett is the cheerleader. She found that she has the ability to heal from all types of injuries. Before that she was your typical high school student with hopes and dreams like the rest of her school. She had lots of friends and everyone loved her. After she found her gift, she picked up an old friendship because none of her other friends would understand. They kept video diaries of every attempt to hurt herself. One day a terrible fire broke out in a local factory and she went in to see what would happen. She ended up saving a worker trapped in the blaze. This was a pivotal point for Claire in her recognizing she could use her power for good.
Now that being said she still had a lot going on with her personal life. One being she is still a teenager and that is a lot to grasp at such a young age and two, she was called to a higher purpose of sorts. New responsibilities on top of being in high school is a lot of pressure for one person to handle. So, she runs away but soon realizes that is not the answer. Meanwhile, back at home, all hell is breaking loose. A few more “special” people find Claire’s father and want questions answered because he kidnapped them at one point and they think he gave them their abilities. This is also something Claire found out and added to her pressure. Things get out of hand there and one of the assailants starts to go nuclear.
The Essay on Lot Hero Strength Funny
During the time that The Odyssey was believed to have been written, the majority of the population in ancient Greece had the same basic ideas of the qualities a hero should possess. The Greeks valued a warrior with great physical strength as well as shrewdness. The emphasis on strength was based on the fact that battles were frequently between city-states. A hero for those times would need to have ...
Claire takes it upon herself to neutralize him with out any regards to her well being and handles the situation. This was the part where she realized that she was a hero, not only to herself, but to her family. Sometimes it takes a drastic situation to find out who we really are and how to use our gifts for good.
Peter Petrelli on the other hand is already grown up but feeling there was more to his life than what he had already. He was a nurse with a big heart and wanted to change the world. To him it felt as if he was fighting an uphill battle. I guess he felt he was meant for much more than just helping people who were sick. It starts with him having dreams that he could fly and tells his brother, Nathan, who quickly brushes him aside.
Peter decides to try out his theory that he could fly. Luckily he called his brother to watch or he would have ended up a splatter mark on the pavement. Come to find out his brother Nathan can fly and when they are close Peter can fly too. He realizes that he has the power of absorption. He can absorb any one persons power he comes into contact with. Which is very cool in the right hands. Later he learns to recall all of the powers he has been around and use them for good. One pertinent good deed was saving the cheerleader which later he would learn is his niece. Finding his power further motivated him to do even greater things than what he already was doing. He fits the hero suit perfectly.
Hiro Nakamura is my personal favorite. A young business man in the making or what his father thought anyway. Hiro was always into comics books and stories of heroes and wished he could do the same. It was his only escape when coming from a wealthy and successful family such as his. When he found he could bend time and space he made it a personal quest to do great things with his gift. A learning experience for him is when a nice waitress was killed by the story’s super villain Sylar. He tried and tried again to save her with the same end result. Somethings are just not meant to be changed. I think the heartache showed him that with great power comes great responsibility and it should not be used for personal gain. Nonetheless, our hero Hiro keeps on trucking and ends up finding his way to help humanity by using his power for the greater good.
The Term Paper on Alexander the Great: a Hero
Was Alexander the great a hero or a villain? In my eyes I believe he was a hero. I feel that his amazing battle skills make up for all the horrible acts of cruelty. Alexander brought a fresh approach after the intrigues of his father Philip II. Alexander was not quite twenty when he succeeded to the throne in 336 BCE. His tutor had been Aristotle, a man to whom is credited great knowledge and ...
