If a blackout were to happen in my town, I personally think people would go crazy. I live in a wealthy town, so there are many appliances necessary running on electricity. Communication would be lost, and so would the most needed thing: light. But, there are possibilities to keep everyone safe.
Communication here is key. People talk on the phone, inform others about important things, and so on. If electricity was out, we wouldn’t be able to call the police, or anyone else if someone was breaking in. Also, alarms and such couldn’t inform you if there was danger. The phone or messages via e-mail is always important, even if there is just chatting with friends.
Light would be gone during a blackout, too. You wouldn’t be able to see or find anything in the darkness. Hospital lights would be out, and then the patients could be injured while they get the back-up lights to go on. There is a high risk of injury when light and electricity are out.
Luckily, there are ways to keep things under control (emergency precautions).
There could be added security to banks and other significant places. Also, people could be informed to be careful, but first we would have to take care of the hospitals and so on. Basically, safety should be taken more seriously, and people could begin to start trying to get the town back up and running. By following that most things would be under control.
