In India you can get a drving license at the age of 18 years only. When you turn in to an adult , thats when you can vote , marry , drive , drink and do all the things an adult can !!
Although thats the legal driving age , you often see kids below that age taking out there parents car and taking it for a spin !!
While in the U.S , you can get a license at the young age of 15 years ( although it has restriction).
And a proper license at the age of 16 years !Although , my question is also, do you think age – 15 – 16 years is too low for a person to drive . Thats the age when most kids aren’t mature enough to be often rationale. Thats the age when you tend to go over the speed limit , and love doing a “dare” like driving with one hand , or hit and run , drink and drive ,etc etc !!
It is said , driving is not a right ……….but a priveldege , so use it judaciously !! Meaning , as a driver you are not in a wonderdfull machine that gets you from A – B point , but it can be a killing machine too if misused .!!

People shouldn’t be driving at an age of 13, or from late middle school to early high school. I’ve been taking a sewing class and I still can’t handle the foot pedal well, which is almost exactly like the pedal of a car. Also, no parent can trust their children to be driving to school and back or to some place safely at such a young age. Plus, if the age is lowered, wouldn’t that mean more driving of cars, more emissions, and more waste of gas and more pollution? I’m only 13 but I still am not confident that I can drive when I turn 14 or 15. Being at an age of 16 is more like you are getting responsible to drive, since you’re going to get a simple job and you need to drive there. If we lower the age right now, people might lower if later until it becomes somewhere like 10. I can’t imagine young people racing across city streets at 50 mph. There’s also all these rules and regulations and stuff like that the young people wouldn’t bother to listen to and follow. Since they aren’t that mature enough, I don’t think lowering the age would do any better.

Sixteen years old can be a very young age to drive, but should the age be reduced even more? Personally I think you should be able to drive as young as 13 years old, with an extensive amount of practice, but enough of my opinion, lets turn to the facts.
Driving is the most dangerous thing we do on a daily basis. On a yearly average there are 25,000 fatal car accidents every year, 14% of those accidents include a teen driver. The main cause of those accidents is the experience that teen drivers lack. Most states require about 50 hours of driving before you can get your license and you still have to pass the exam, but is that really enough? The DMV recommend at least 30 hours but most people don’t think thats enough.
In many states you can get a drivers permit at around the age of 15, some states as go as young as 14. Those drivers have to log over 30 hours of driving time with a parent before receiving their full license. Lots of people around the country think that as long as you can get the hours in, and pass the test, you should be able to get your license at any age. One of the biggest reasons drivers get into accidents is because even though they’ve passed the test, their still inexperienced. So, why not just make younger people going for their license practice for longer, and if they pass the test, that proves that they’re just as samer at the 16 year olds.

Driving can also teach kids responsibility. Teens without their license have a hard time getting a job because their lack of transportation. If they were given their license at a younger age than they could help pay for things rather than dipping into their parents wallet. If their family were to work on a farm, they could help move bags of feed and do chores like that.
Other than just helping out the family, it will help out themselves as well. Driving teaches you to pay attention to the road and adjust to the people driving around them. Those lessons can help out in other real life situations. It teaches you how to react to other people, driving, or not.

Scientists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have found that the part of the brain that weighs risks, makes judgments, and controls impulsive behaviors is still developing during the teenage years. They have also found that a 16-year-oid’s brain is generally less developed in this area than that of a teen just a few years older.
In fact, 16-year-old drivers crash at far higher rates than older teens. According to the National Safety Council, one in five 16-year-olds will be involved in a car crash within the first year of getting their driver’s license.
The high accident rate prompts many people to want to increase the driving age to 18. According to a USA Today poll, 61% of adults say 16 is too young to drive.
Adults aren’t the only ones who feel this way. Rosie Dodds, a sixth-grader at the Ashford School in Ashford, Connecticut, says raising the driving age is a good idea.
