My 1st Homerun
On April 27, 2008 me and my team had a baseball game at 9:00 a.m. It was held at Prospect Park. At 7:45 a.m. my mom woke me up. I didn’t want to wake up, but she told me that I had a baseball game and I sat up really fast. She made me breakfast and I ate it while I watched T.V. I finished my breakfast and she made me a cup of hot chocolate.
When I finished the hot chocolate I got out of bed and took a towel from our closet. I went into the bathroom and hung my towel up behind the door on the towel rack. I took my toothbrush and the toothpaste, and started to brush my teeth. After I brushed my teeth I took off my clothes and went to the toilet. Then I went into the shower.
When I finished showering I went into the room and locked the door. I turned on the T.V, and took of my towel. I went in my drawer and grabbed the boxers that my cup goes in. I put it in and then grabbed my pants. It was gray with belt loops and a back pocket for my batting gloves. I put on my pants and went into the closet for my uniform shirt. I put it on and then got my navy blue baseball socks. I put it on and stretched it over my pants.
When I finished getting dressed I unlocked the door and went into the closet to get my baseball bag that holds all my equipment. I checked to make sure that everything I need is in my bag. I took my bag out of the closet and went into the kitchen for my pack of sunflower seeds. I put the sunflower seeds in my baseball bag and took my batting gloves out of the bag. I zipped up my bag and my mom said “I’ll meet you in the car”. I went to the shoe shelf and got my baseball cleats. I sat in the sofa and put on my cleats.
The Essay on Paper Toweling Beans July 2004
The question I choose to investigate was if beans needed soil to grow and if a bean which was soaked in water will grow faster than one that was not. The first step was to soak several dry beans in water overnight. Put four soaked beans on a wet piece of paper toweling and four dry beans on a piece of wet paper toweling. Then I labeled two plastic cups with the start date and soaked or dry, and ...
When finished putting on I checked to make sure I had everything I need. After that I opened the door and walked to the elevator. When I got downstairs I saw my mom in the car waiting for me. I hopped into the car and she started to drive off. We stopped by my friend Aaron and picked him up too, because he was my best friend and we were on the same team.
When we got out of the car by Prospect Park my mom went to find parking and said she was going to meet us by the field. When we got to the field the game was about to start, and I was batting first. So as soon as I got to the dugout I put on a helmet and grabbed my bat, and went to get the doughnut to put around my bat. When it was time for me to bat I walked up and got into my batting stance.
The first pitch that came I swung on and hit it really far. As soon as I hit it I started to run to first base, I saw my 1st base coach waving me on to go to 2nd base. After that I almost reached 2nd base I saw my 3rd base coach telling me to go to 3rd base, when I reached 3rd base he told me to go home. When I was running home I saw 1 of my teammates telling me to slide. The ball reached home plate and I slid into the base. I took my head up to see that the umpire called me safe.
As soon as I got up I was ecstatic because it was my first homerun. I got into the dugout and everyone on the team was cheering me. I was getting high fives, hugs, etc. to celebrate my 1st homerun. I felt proud of myself because I worked hard to finally get my first homerun.
