The love life Improver
While browsing through magazine, it is hard not to ignore the urge to stop and look at the images of the products that are presented. These advertisements are usually featured with models posing and dressing provocatively to sell these products. Sex appeal in advertisements is what grabs the attention of readers and potential consumers. An advertisement that I have come across is an ad for a perfume called Jovan Satisfaction. The ad is trying to catch readers’ attention with the calm and relaxing background with a couple gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes, and its guaranteed satisfaction slogan.
First glance at this ad, I automatically thought that it was aimed at Caucasians, being that there is a white couple featured in it. But taking a closer look, I think it’s aimed at men and women in general. The slogan “Improve Your Love Life 100% Satisfaction GUARANTEED or your money back!” is giving its potential consumer the idea that if they wear this fragrance their love lives will be great. The audience I think this ad is aimed at is single men and women whose love lives are not good or those who don’t have love lives at all.
Looking at this ad, the first thing I noticed was the body language of the couple in it. The woman has her hand resting on the man’s chest while the man looks like he is holding onto her, while staring into each other’s eyes. The gazing of the eyes make it seem like they could be lovers. The position of their hands shows that there is a strong sexual attraction between them. It’s like she’s looking into the man’s eyes saying protect me
The Essay on Renaissance Women Men Life Love
Christine de Pisan's book, The Treasure of the City of Ladies, explains in detail the various aspects of women's lives during the late Medieval and Renaissance culture. She addresses all women of this time from those with power and authority to the poorest peasant women. Christine de Pisan focuses on three main areas of a women's life during this time period. First she discusses the role of ...
Another aspect of the advertisement was the scenery. The couple seems to be sitting in the middle of a prairie. There is also a motorcycle or moped in the background, that gives the scene a “lover’s getaway” vibe, like they rode away into the sunset to be alone.
The colors in this ad are very calm and warm. The light colors give off the vibe that there love is innocent. The woman’s pink shirt could represent love while the man’s pink shirt could represent love also. The two colors mesh well together making it seem like they are perfect for each other. I was also thinking maybe they are both wearing these fragrances and their attracting each other.
The actual product comes in two separate bottles. The women’s bottle is white and pink, where those colors represent love, romance, purity, and perfection. The men’s bottle is black and gold, where those colors represent power, elegance, mystery, wealth, and wisdom.
The message I think the ad is giving is that a person with no love life can have a love life just like the couple in the ad if they use the fragrance. They even go as far as saying you can get your money back if it doesn’t work.
I think this ad is affective. They seem so confident that the fragrance will have a 100% guaranteed satisfaction that they are willing to give you your money back if it doesn’t work. The message of the ad might be quite intriguing to those people who need improvements in their love lives, which would persuade them to more than likely try the product. What do they have to lose, if the product doesn’t work, they’ll get their money back right?
