World Hunger
World hunger might be the worst problem in the world today. Lets start off by defining “World Hunger”, according to the Oxford English Dictionary (2013) “1.world hunger is a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat.” World hunger is a problem that is absolutely horrible. Poverty is the main cause of hunger, and hunger is a cause of poverty. When people go malnourished, they lose brain function and the mental materials to be a productive person in a society or to earn money. There are approximately 13.1 percent of people in our world that go hungry today, that’s an equivalent of 925 million people who go hungry and undernourished everyday and they don’t receive the daily calories that someone should receive. Nearly 98 percent of worldwide hunger exists in underdeveloped countries: Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Hunger is often passed from mother to child; each year, 17 million children are born underweight because their mothers go without eating or malnourished. There are a lot of sad aspects that world hunger brings out: children and adults dying each day of hunger, people fighting and stealing for food, and even searching for food in large garbage disposals. There are several groups and organizations that help and go overseas to different countries to help the ones in need. There isn’t very much that a group or organization can do for a country, but when everyone comes together it makes a massive difference.

That is the only thing about Plato's theory in that it does not prepare you for all the bad things that happen. It is like the saying goes you must take the bad with the good, and that is what you get when you experience life because nothing in life is fair. People can only show or teach you so much before you just have to have experience to learn more. It contests the notion that nirvana was the ...

This day and age nobody should have to be hungry. We have had all kinds of breakthroughs with food. Scientist have found ways to alter plants rDNA, which can unlock all kinds of possibilities for these nations. Plants are now able to survive in conditions that they otherwise never would be able to do before. Scientist have even developed a plant that can detect bombs by changing colors when a certain chemical is present. If we can do that, no country should ever go hungry again.
Haiti is one of those countries that has a majority of their citizens that are malnourished. Haiti seems to be a country that just has the worst luck. Hurricanes, earthquakes, you name it they got it. These contribute very minimally to their hunger issues compared to other more “man-made” issues with the country. Haiti was ranked the 3rd hungriest country in the world according to the information from the United Nations. They also were ranked the 3rd most corrupt government; there may be a correlation there. It can be difficult for a country to do well when the people that are supposed to look after their country and people are busy looking after themselves. Then when the Haitian government does try to do something to help their situation it usually backfires. A good example of this would be how they are trying to get into the world market. They are allowing large foreign corporations to take advantage of their workers by paying them stupid amounts of wages for working in poor conditions. No one should ever go through world huger. No one should ever suffer the way these people do. There are so many places around the world that are facing hunger, and poverty. If we all come together as one we can make a change and help the ones in need. This is the first generation in all record history that can do something about the scourge of poverty. We have the means to do it. We can erase hunger from the face of the Earth. We have the knowledge and the resources to end hunger. We must all do our part to end world hunger. It’s amazing what just one person can do imagine everyone coming together to help end world hunger. We can do it.
