Elephants should not be killed because they help the environment. Elephants actually help the environment by acting like a bulldozer and knocking down dead trees that would stand dormant otherwise. Africa does not have the time or money to bulldoze these dead trees that take up land that could be used for some well needed shelter. There are too many homeless people in Africa to have dead trees taking up in some cases large parts of land. Elephants work as construction equipment that Africa does not have the money for. Without these elephants dead trees would take up many miles of that that could be houses sheltering the poor population of Africa. Elephants are an endangered species and they should not be killed for their ivory or they will become extinct. In the article The Poaching Problem the author writes” elephant populations have declined to dangerously low levels.” At the rate that poachers are killing these innocent animal the entire species of elephants will be extinct in the year 2030! That is only twenty five years, I know that does not seem like a long time but it is going to go by fast and every one will regret killing all those poor innocent gentle creatures.

Too many male elephants are being killed before their mating age of thirty five years old. Elephants are not the only thing dying Anti-Poaching officers die daily trying to protect the elephants. Elephants are treated like they are not important and we are more important than them. No species is more important than the other.

Elephants need to be treated equally and saved from terrible deaths. As you can see, I believe that elephants should not be killed for their ivory. My arguments prove that killing elephants is wrong! Use your common sense is it right to kill innocent animals just for money?
