Some organisms only consist of one cell, and others are composed of multiple cells that are further organized. After reading pages 4 – 5 in your textbook, list an example of each of the following levels of organization that come together to make up life.
25 points A molecule
A molecule is atoms chemically bonded together. 5 points
A cell
A cell is a bunch of molecules formed together.5 points
A tissue
Cells formed together that have specialized function, like a muscles cells special function is making it move.5 points An organ
An organ is many tissues organized together to carry out a function, like the heart pumps blood to the body and the brain tells everything in the body what to do.
5 points An organ system
An organ system is a set of organs and tissues that work together collectively that make the body work the way it should. Like the brain and nerves in our body.5 points (See next page for part 2)
The Essay on Human Body Systems
The human cell is said to be a living thing because it is a basic functional unit of any living organism. Thus it performs the most detailed functions like energy generation, facilitating tissues functions, hence organism control. Body cells feed, grow, respire, excrete and can die. A cell is the smallest basic unit of life. It is made up of chemical substances such as atoms, ions and molecules ...

Part 2: All living organisms need energy and nutrients to grow, respond, and reproduce. After reading pages 6 – 7 in your textbook, what is the difference between a producer and a consumer? 5 points Answer:
The difference between a producer and consumer is that a producer creates its own food and a consumer must feed off of others.Part 3: Based upon the characteristics of the cells that compose an organism, life can be organized by scientists for clear communication. After reading pages 10 – 11 in your textbook, what are the three domains into which all life can be divided? 5 points Answer:
The three domains that all life can be divided by are bacteria, archaea, and eukarya. Part 4: Every species is given a unique two-part name. After reading pages 10 – 11 in your textbook, according to the Linnaean system, what are the first and the second parts of the name? 5 points Answer:
The first part is the genus and the second part is the specific epithet.Part 5: After reading pages 12 – 13 in your textbook, what is the difference between inductive and deductive reasoning? 5 points Answer: The difference between inductive and deductive reasoning is that inductive reasoning is based on observations and deductive reasoning is based on facts. (See next page for part 6)
Part 6: The scientific method can and is used by all at some point in their life. After reading page 13 in your textbook, read the case study below and respond to the questions. 25 points “Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home
Your house is on fire and your children are gone
All except one, an that’s Little Anne
For she has crept under the warming pan.”
Nursery Rhyme c.1744
Recently, Margo observed a large number of lady beetles in her garden. It was not surprising to see lady beetles, but what was surprising was to see the vast number of lady beetles. Margo has had her garden for several years, and has never seen such a large amount of beetles. After much thought, Margo realized that this past winter the temperatures in her garden had dropped substantially. In fact, the temperatures were more than 10 degrees colder than usual for that time of the year. Margo decided that she wanted to test her observation of colder than normal winter temperatures in Florida, and an increased number of lady beetles. To do this, Margo placed 10 pregnant lady beetles in each of two of habitats (box enclosures) with sufficient nourishment and bedding.
The Essay on Lady Macbeth Feeble minded
By the end of Sheakspeares "Macbeth," Lady Macbeth has proven that her imagination is stronger than her will. During the beginning of the play, Lady M had been the iron fist and authority icon for Macbeth. She was the voice of determination and hardness, yet deep down, she never carried such traits to begin with. She started this ordeal with a negative, bombastic rhetoric, preying on Macbeths ...
One habitat of 10 pregnant lady beetles was placed in an area at the normal winter temperature for the area of Florida where she resides. The other habitat of 10 pregnant lady beetles was placed in a location that maintained a temperature 10 degrees below the normal winter temperature for the area of Florida where she resides. Margo hypothesized that the colder temperature would results in a larger number of lady beetle offspring. What question was Margo asking herself and testing?
Why the amount of beetles had grown and was it due to the temperature drop last winter?5 points What is the independent variable (that is what was Margo, as the scientist, changing)? The habitats of the lady beetles5 points
What is the dependent variable (that is what was Margo, as the scientist, measuring or counting)?
Pregnant lady beetles5 points
What is the control group?
The lady beetles in the normal winter temperature habitat.5 points What was the experimental group?
The lady beetles in the habitat 10 degrees lower than normal winter temperature.5 points (See next page for remaining parts)
