Education Program In a world that is perfect world all children would have access to essential academic, financial, and information resources necessary to be successful for the achievement of higher education and prosperous careers.However our world is not a perfect one and all our all children do not get the same opportunities to succeed.Over the past 50 years the enrollment and persistence rates of colleges have increased many folds yet the existing gaps in education continues to increase because of the low income factor with colored students in particular not having access to the required levels of academic, financial and information resources. While the American public supports policies and programs that would provided educations services to low income students and there are existing laws also such as the Higher Education Act of 1965, they do not serve the purpose of equaling opportunities for the advancement of such students. Therefore, the government has implemented outreach programs like the Upward Bound and GEAR UP for the provision of support in academic and information fields to prepare low income students for higher education. While churches organized the first outreach programs, at present there are hundreds of such programs all across the country and if our policy makers learn more about them they can implement them with resounding success.

Therefore, to provide benefits to underprivileged students, quality data collection and constant evaluations are needed. Where efforts have been made for success higher education has been provided to low income students through coordination with school reforms, financial aid and mentorship and have the potential to do a lot of more good. Failure to provide assistance in the education field to low income students will have negative effects in their adults lives and furthermore an uneducated workforce curtail economy, tax revenues and positive participation of such people in society. Therefore it is necessary that our policy makers and educators put in place a proper outreach program so that all low income students can have equal opportunities in education as well as in their future lives.
