ter> Question: In the Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan touches on an obscure, little discussed issue: the divergence of Chinese culture through American children born of Chinese immigrant parents. With close reference to at least two stories in the book, discuss the truth of this statement. To a certain extent, I agree with this statement. A persons environment in which he/she grows up is a large factor ...
The movie is cannot be applied to the whole world for they may not get the meaning of those deaths especially if they doesn’t have a information or a single detail about ba-gua. Many people won’t believe it for we have many religion and Chinese have Taoism or communism religion. Some of the religions around the world don’t have the same belief as others. The movie has a language of Filipino which other people doesn’t understand.
X. SUGGESTIVENESS
The movie shows a story about Chinese on what they believe towards ba-gua, on what it give and take. The story also says that some or most of luck that are received in not right manner have a bad things or penalty in return.
XI. SPIRITUAL VALUE
The movie gives a lesson on how we take care our family that most of the time we think first our family instead of thinking our own self first and that is a unexplainable reason. The story also gives detail on having a luck by believing Feng Shui many Filipino are now hooked to it now a days, even other nationality ore believing it.
XII. PERSONAL REFLECTION
Feng shui is directed properly in a unique way but it doesn’t scare me at all. Some details are marked to me like those ba-gua scenes, lotus feet appearing, and those focus scenes to Kris but it has no lasting impact. Actually foreign horror movies are more trilling to me than those locals I don’t know why but maybe because it was made more creatively and more realistic. Despite of it I praise the director, writer and the cast for delivering the right feelings on what the movie want to say to the people. I thank the movie for educating me about ba-gua for what it really symbolizes.
