The students of Snow Canyon Middle School desperately need there time away from school. To unwind from tests, teachers, school work, and learning. All those subjects are very stressful in a young teenager’s life. Our lunch hour is the only hour from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. that we have that we can just get away from school, and relax and have fun. This is why we must fight for a longer lunch hour.
My friends and I are always rushing down to lunch, which takes time out of our unwinding. Then we have to run like the wind back up to the school. And running after eating isn’t a great idea. Especially, if you had burger bar. This rushing and stressing over tardie’s doesn’t help with the rest of the stress that you get from teachers and all the school work you have to do. Not only do the students want a longer lunch hour, I know the teachers would love to have that extra special time away from the world, and relax and get away from all of the rascals that they have to deal with. Besides those reasons, Tardie’s is the one and only thing that hurts the students the most.
Mr. Gubler agrees that we need to have a longer lunch hour. Because, if you looked at everyone’s tar die’s in the whole school, most of the tar die’s would be in their 6th period. All because of the lack of time that we have to walk down to wherever you eat. And eat chitchat with your friends and walk all the way back up to the school. Does the school board really think we can do all of that in a half an hour? I mean really, do they remember how hard that was when they went to school? A half an hour isn’t even long enough to do practically anything, let alone walking, eating, talking, and do some more walking. Tardie’s equal restitution that equals money, which most kids cant afford to go to. So, if they made the lunch hour longer the less fortunate students wouldn’t have to pay for there restitution.

Teachers love there time away from the 800 kids they see every week day of every month, except for the few holidays that we have. But, there lunchtime is also there time to relax. And get away for a little while. Therefore, the teachers get there time to drive to where they want to eat, get there meal, eat, relax, and drive back, and not be in any type of rush. Doesn’t that just sound terrific? Come on now, really. Who wouldn’t want that? I sure would. I sure know you would to.
No one can disagree with me on this. I personally could get almost every kid and every teacher in Snow Canyon Middle School to sign a petition saying that they want a longer lunch hour. Why cant we all just be happy, and have a longer lunch hour? Is that just too much to ask? I wouldn’t think so. It’s only a few more minutes. Who is that going to hurt? And if it does hurt anyone then what would it do to them? Everyone should just get their way, and have a longer lunch hour. If you think about it, it’s more of a holy hour. Time away from everyone and everything. How great life would be with that holy hour. That is why we should have a longer ‘holy hour’. So everybody who is anyone will and can be happy!
