Introduction A group of people wrote in response to a statement about marijuana use. The statement was about a young adult who uses marijuana. He/She said that when under the influence of marijuana, that he / she has and uncanny amount of concentration. He/She is able to perform home maintenance, schoolwork, and yoga stretching with an overall better performance than when he / she is sober, or not “high.” In reading this selection I realized that many others, including myself, have better performance in certain activities when under the influence of marijuana, such as working out at the gym. I recently have tried going to the gym and working-out while under the influence of marijuana, and came to the conclusion that my performance was much better, in that I could lift more weight or perform more repetitions. I am in good physical shape, but I would like to know if the effects on my physical performance in the gym through the use of marijuana are unique to me, or does the general public share the same results.
Researching the effects of marijuana use on certain human behaviors such as concentration may open up some doors for other medicinal and recreational uses of the drug. Hypothesis People who work out at the gym while under the influence of marijuana will have an overall better performance. The independent variable is the use of marijuana. The dependent variable is the overall performance of working-out at the gym. The independent variable is operationally defined as smoking. 5 grams of a type of marijuana known as “krypton” through a Pyrex pipe.
The Essay on Factors Affecting Academic Performance Of A Working Students
Student jobs have become a sort of trend among students around the world, who want to work while they are studying. In short, the term that suits this trend is ‘Earn and Learn’ policy. Other reason why student jobs are popular among students is they help to cope up with the constant increase in tuition fees, and a way to afford further educations. The problem has been developed with ...
The dependent variable is operationally defined as doing three sets of ten repetitions of specified exercises. The exercises are: flat bench press, behind the neck shoulder military press, seated dumbbell curls, dips, squats, calf raises and leg curls. In order to determine how much strength is gained, an initial strength test in each exercise will be evaluated and recorded. A potential confounding variable is the consumption of certain foods and vitamins that may aid in the overall performance of the work out. Another is the amount of exerted energy prior to the workout. Measures to control the effects of the confounding variables are to have the all the subjects work-out at 6: 00 am, assuming that they are fully rested, and to place all of the subjects on the same diet in accordance to each individuals weight.
Procedures The subjects will be chosen randomly from the population. The subjects will be placed in two groups. The experimental group, those working-out under the influence of marijuana, will be named “Group Mary-Jane.” The control group, those working-out without the aid of marijuana, will be named “Group Clark Kent.” The independent variable will be the same for all those in the experimental group, that is. 5 grams of “krypton” marijuana will be smoked through a Pyrex pipe per subject fifteen minutes prior to performing the specific exercises. Each subject will vary in weight and size; therefore, if the dosage is too high it will be lowered. 1 until suitable for each subject.
The dependent variable will be measured at the end of a four-week period, where each subject will perform the same initial strength tests. The percentage of strength gained through each exercise will be measured and calculated with the original evaluation. Ethical Considerations All of the subjects in Group “Mary-Jane” will be aware that the continual and abusive use of marijuana may detrimental to their health. They will be allowed to drop out of the experiment whenever they so please.
The Essay on Group Engagement Exercise
The experience of this week’s Engagement Exercise made clear to me one idea that I am posting here as the hypothesis: Time and the need for joint efforts are absolutely necessary for the collective of individuals to become a group. Several people put together formally will never become a group, not to mention a team. Two factors are absolutely necessary: time and joint work. Time allows people to ...
At no time will either group of subjects be deceived about the physical, or any other risks as a result of this research. Evaluation The most challenging part of this assignment for me was choosing a hypothesis. I wanted to pick a hypothesis that I believed would raise some controversy and obtain followers of the idea at the same time. My hypothesis may not be taken seriously, but I strongly believe that marijuana use, under non-abusive conditions, can be a positive medicinal and recreational drug. The least challenging part of this assignment was the usage of proper grammar and sentence structure. Though my grammar and sentence structure may not be perfect, I feel that all of the other aspects of this assignment dealt with a great deal of thinking and reasoning.
The practicing and information that Mrs. Haynes gave me was the most helpful factor in completing this assignment.
