Moving from place to place can affect a child’s life by not letting your child have any “solid” friends it can also affect how your child grows up because teens tend to grow with their environment. Moving place to place affects teens mentally and physically. It affects teens mentally because when you move to somewhere you are unknown and people treat you differently, like an outcast. It takes time for everyone to get comfortable with you and vice-versa. Physically teens are affected because moving far distances will take a lot of energy from you.
This can distract you from school or work. Through-out my life I was moved around from home to home school to school. It was very affective because I wasn’t able to settle down and meet new people, I also didn’t get to understand my school work because every school there was a new subject. Some youth who are subjected to moving frequently and, their lives disrupted do however, show signs of accepting situations as they happen and dealing with them the best they can.
They have a better perception of life, how other people live and as adults can also move frequently. After numerous family moves, some often develop positive personality traits, such as independence and resilience, improve their involvement with positive peer groups, relationships with their parents, attachments to the community, prosaically behaviors, educational achievement, and positive personality traits.
Ultimately, they will decrease their chances of developing problem behaviors. Teens are constantly making new friends to replace the ones that they have lost; they are often more outgoing and independent. They learn to adapt quickly to fit into this ever changing environment. Highly mobile children are more likely to reach out to a new student because they know what it is like to be the new student.
