Boys of Fall
All my life I have never considered fall a legit season. I have always thought we could jump from summer to winter, and skip the middle man. Now I see fall for what it truly is. Fall is a season of unpredictable changes and surprises.
Fall tries to creep up on you. It catches you coming off the highs of summer unsuspecting and unaware. Sometimes the change is a hindered and smooth process. Other times it attacks with the force of a blindside hit from a blitzing linebacker. During fall the leaves begin to lose color as if they are ditching the last sights of the summer. Soon those leaves would fall to the ground like they lost the privilege to hang from tree. The weather turn cools down and people start retreating inside. This is when families exchange cookouts in the backyard for hot coco around the warm fire place. Then as Halloween comes around people spend there last few nights out on the town trick or treating before the weather gets to cold ad bitter.
Just about the time fall starts the kids are forced back in to lockdown for the next 180. Most call this process back to school. Many kids dread this but it isn’t all bad. Friends regroup after being apart for the summer. Teachers return to there dusty old class rooms and life goes on. One big challenge that fall brings is that is the task of getting back in a routine. No longer can people stay up till midnight and sleep in.
... that really stood out in my summer was that Imet allot of new people from all over Wisconsin and even ... thing this summer was that I really took the time to get to know allot of new people, I have ... every summer following will bethe same as this one although it is highly unlikely seeing as how people don' ... of all of them. One thing that comes with school is fall sports. The cross country team dusts off their running shoes and the volleyball players bring out their spandex. As for the football players they have been waiting all summer to get that first hit of the season. The long wait so the crack of the pads is long and tiring. Once you spy your chance to tackle then you get to uncoil and shoot into that ball carrier like a snake catching his lunch. After you finally obtain that first hit it becomes an addiction till all you want is to live on the field. As soon as the games start your mind gets set on the one goal of winning. There is no greater feeling that going to war with your bothers and walking off the field with the score board telling the story. While the season progresses you slowly come up one of the biggest games of the year. Homecoming is sometimes this biggest and surely the most hyped game you will play. The entire community comes out to the stadium. The school takes time out of class to get for the pep rally to get the students, players, and coaches energized for the game. The players could easily get caught up in the festivities of there but at the end of the night when the scoreboard reads all zeros it was just another football games.
Once I take a step back I really enjoy fall and what it brings. I get a break from the scorching heat of summer. I think families start to become closer around the holidays. Friends reconnect with the start of school. Fall as brings battles and struggles of the football season. Fall may bring surprising changes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
