Christians do this because jesus said that this is the most important of all the commandments, and that through loving god, and worshipping him, the word og God will be spread to other people, so that they can feel gods love too.
How religious communities express their love for others.
For Christians, serving the community, may be one of these things:
Homes for orphaned children
Schools for street children
Hospices for the sick and dying
Homes for alcoholics and drug abusers
Shelters for the homeless
Care for those with AIDS
Care for the mentally ill
Mother Theresa’s prayer:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace ;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
Lord, may I not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
Because it is in giving that we receive,
In pardoning that we are pardoned.

Brief overview of the trinity:
GOD came first in the trinity, then he morphed into the spirit ( Logos or Word) who then entered the womb of the Virgin Mary who gave birth to the third part of the trinity, which is Jesus.
some Christians believe in hypostatic union, which is when god came to earth as Jesus, and retained his divinity, but in the early part of his life, he ‘set aside’ his divinity. Overall incarnation is when something divine, comes to earth and takes on flesh, while still holding a part of its divinity.
