In William Shakespeare play Macbeth we see the main character Macbeth get approached by three witches who inform him that he will be become king. Macbeth doesn’t know how this will happen and thinks that the only way is to kill King Duncan instead of having fate take its toll. Macbeth feels great demands from his wife Lady Macbeth to kill Duncan and become the king of Scotland. Through this crisis Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are depicted very differently and similar. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth both show great ambition to gain king ship “We will establish our estate upon Our eldest, Malcolm, whom we name hereafter The Prince of Cumberland”(27).

Lady Macbeth at times seems to want it more than Macbeth. When Macbeth starts to have second thoughts Lady Macbeth is the one that pushes him to kill. This also shows the greed in Lady Macbeth that she is willing to get what she wants regardless of what other people want. Macbeth lacks motivation were in contrast Lady Macbeth strives in motivation. Macbeth want to become king but he lacks the motivation to become king and resorts to killing him. Lady Macbeth shows great motivation in gaining royalty through Macbeth.
