Online education has evolved over the last ten years as much as the cell phone. Given this, what have been some of the major improvements and changes in the digital classroom? There have been several major improvements and changes in the digital classroom take for example students being able to interact with each other in different locations. I find that very amazing being to able to communicate and give feed back to someone in a different state. Another change has taken place would be from Blackboard to eCollege software. Another major improvement would be text books allowing students to have access to their text books online. The same thing that a person would do in a regular classroom is the same thing that they can do in online classrooms. Take for instance Course Management Systems which, are systems that allow students to easily add the course material, edit and manage it any way you want. Examples of Course Management System s are resources that people can use for the online classroom
If I post a poem on my Facebook site and someone cuts and pastes it on their site is that a case for stealing my intellectual property? Yes it is if its copyright and if there are any legal documentation. Intellectual property is the creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce. Intellectual property is an intangible product that has commercial value. Intellectual property involves stealing or misusing proprietary information a company (or person) owns. Here are some examples for instance someone downloading free music off websites like Frostwire , Limewire and selling it. So my interpretation would be anything that was taken by someone else and sold for more than its value then the person who has copyrights and documentation to represents that it is theirs. So therefore, I would say that it would have to depend whether the poem was stolen because the person would need some documentation representing and proving that it was theirs first.

What type of strategies can educators use to ensure their students are not “flaming” in way that causes damage to others? Flaming also known as bashing, is hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming is the act of posting messages in forums and message groups to insult or agitate the group. An educator can stop flaming by making sure that each student is following the guides. Important guides are part of a set of rules called net etiquette or sometimes netiquette. These rules are important in order to maintain a positive learning environment. The educator would need to make sure that the student is careful intent is communicated. Educators need to make sure that the student is showing respect for their colleagues. The educator needs to make sure that the student always avoid offensive language, and be sure that their post are not interpreted as offensive in anyway. An educator can make sure that the student does not share personal material about any other classmate in a post. My philosophy has always been “Be very mindful of what you say and how you say it, Never say something to someone that you wouldn’t want them to say back to you”. Just know that everyone does not think so just because someone says something to you don’t be so quick to interpret it in a bad way.
