I heard from a lot of people that this movie was so boring, but I actually liked it. I am also a Hitchcock fan and have always liked his movies, so that may be why.
The beginning started out a little slow for me, but got better and better. When the one bird flew down and pecked Melanie on her head I thought that it was going to pick up more and have a lot of birds start flocking her and causing a lot of terror, but they didn’t. It took a little while for more and more birds to come around.
One scene that interested me the most was the school scene. When Melanie offered to go get Cathy at school; I thought this was the most threatening scene. When Melanie first got there, she heard the children singing inside once she got to the door, so she turned around and noticed a bird, then another and more and more filling up the playground.
She went back into the school to warn Suzanne, the teacher, to not let the children outside to play because of the birds. Suzanne told the children that they were going to practice a fire drill and they were to go home as fast as they could and go strictly home and no where else.
Once the children started to run the birds kept coming and following them. They were pecking the children everywhere. They would not leave them alone. Scary music was playing in the background which made it more intense. Finally, Melanie got to her car and hid safely in it with a child.

I thought this scene was interesting because I would have thought that the teacher would have told them to stay inside the school and made up a reason they could not go outside and play. Instead she told them to run home and go directly home, lying and say it was a fire drill. I think they should have stayed inside and been warn about the birds or at least warned about them before just letting them outside to go home, then unexpectedly got attacked by them.
This as a movie I would like to watch again. I think my kids would like it too. It was a different kind of film, but interesting. It kept me wanting to keep watching.
