The system requirements that Windows 7 needs to run are 1 GHz or faster 32-bit or64-bit processor, 1 GB of ram for 32-bit and 2GB of ram for 64-bit, 16gbs of hard drive space for 32-bit and 20gbs of hard drive space for 64-bit. You will also need a direct x 9 graphics device with Windows Display Driver model 1.0 or higher. With the requirements that Windows 7 needs to run it makes it easy for users with new computers and older computers to upgrade from their older operating system.
One of the biggest parts of Windows 7 is all of the new features that come with it. Not all of the features are for novice users but were created for people in the I.T. field to make a few of their jobs easier. A few o f the simple features are Libraries, Virtualization Enhancements, and HomeGroup. What virtualization enhancements do is when you are running in virtual desktop interface mode the end user gets a higher quality experience. HomeGroup is an easy way for users at home to connect all of their computers on the network so they can share pictures, videos, documents, and files. Some of the more advanced features for I.T. users are Branchcache, Direct Access, and View Available Networks (VAN).
The most useful I.T. feature would be Branchcache. What it does is when a remote windows 7 user accesses data Windows 2008 R2 server at the headquarters, that data is then downloaded to the remote servers. If the same or a different Windows 7 user tries to access the same file it is faster because it has been cached. Direct Access can help not just I.T. but also help end users with easily connecting to the enterprise without using VPN. With Direct Access it allows the end user to be able to connect to their work files from another network without the difficult setup of a VPN. It also helps I.T. Administrators to be able to manage laptops even if they are not connected to the VPN, it also allows them to schedule software updates the next time the machine connects using Direct Access.
Microsoft Windows 98 Microsoft Windows 98 is an operating system and its predecessor was Windows 95. An operating system is the interface between you and the computer, which helps manage files and makes using your personal computer simple and easy. While this release was not as big as Windows 95, Windows 98 contains significant updates, fixes, and support for new peripherals. Features like ...
With all operating systems there is good and there is bad. Windows 7 has a few problems that come with it and one of them happens before it is even installed. The problem that happens before Windows 7 is installed is during an upgrade from Vista. When the upgrade gets to 62% it stops, to fix the problem reboot your pc and check the setup log file and add and environment variable to fix the problem. Another problem that Windows 7 has is the DVD drive not found even if it is listed in the BIOS and you are using the correct drivers. To fix the problem run REGEDIT go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass, then delete UpperFilters and LowerFilters. One of the other problems that Windows 7 has is syncing with the iPhone. This could be a big issue because people who have an iPhone won’t want to upgrade to Windows 7.
With all of the competition between operating systems Windows 7 is a good choice for all different users. With all of the new features that Windows 7 comes with it can help not only novice users but I.T. Administrators and other people in the I.T. field. A few of the features are Branchcache, HomeGroup, and the new Quick Launch toolbar. But like all operating systems Windows 7 has a couple problems from installation hangs to device sync errors.
