The Panthers were a group of Black people who wanted to and did contribute to the community on a basis where they could work together “like ants in a colony,” socially or politically to end suppression, oppression and corruption of the people within the poverty stricken community. The Black Panthers Contributed to the community in many ways whether it was feeding and clothing their community citizens, providing entertainment, healthcare, supplying work, or giving education to the children who weren’t fortunate to make it in public schools. Many people are not aware of the positive attributes of the Black Panthers, They just picture them as vile fiends who try to use racism to fight the so called “White man.” Bobby Seale once stated “you can’t fight racism with racism.” Thus, the Panthers are misunderstood people who believe “community is a focal point,” and the inhabitants should work together as a family to become a stronger force to be reckoned with.

Others liked the fact that they were so devoted to the community, helping to feed the children and providing clothing for the less-fortunate. Today, there are many people inspired in the legendary party such as; many commoners, music artists. Dead Prez are rap artists that absorb the revolutionary views of the Panthers Malcolm X Bob Marley and many others that take in these views. Other artists such as Tupac Shakur, Common, Talib Kweli, DJ Hi-Tek, Mos Def, and others have revolutionary views. Through their music, they currently speak out against police brutality and fight for other such views.
