1.3.1 History
It is quite interesting that the Gujrat city very smaller than the big cities of Pakistan butt produce very generations because of its marvellous educational history. This educational history begins from the Zamindar high school in 1921 and Zamindar College in 1937. This college offered its services for the students of related areas of Gujrat, as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Because of its education level and structure Gujrat was declared as the Khita-e-Yunan ((part of Greece) of Punjab. This shows how much Gujrat is excellent in the field of education.
Establishment of the heart of Gujrat i.e. UOG is led in 2003 by Chief Minister of Punjab Govt. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi .This increment of educational asset of beloved nation is done on the vacant land adjoining the shrine of saint Hafiz Muhammad Hayat.

The mission of UOG is to equip the youth in the areas of economy, social policy and research, so as to enable them to compete at the international level; achieve excellence in research and teaching in all disciplines; and develop a world class centre of excellence in the industrial triangle of Gujranwala, Gujrat and Sialkot to help the industry and society at large through research-based initiatives.

1.3.4 Disaster Management Cell
There are millions of people have been struck by flood in 2010. The destruction of this flood was massive as compared to the recent huge natural calamity, the 2004 India Ocean Tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
This situation causes UOG to take a stand and started Flood Relief Campaign on August 9, 2010. The major task was assigned to Ms Aneesa Rahat, Director Students Affairs who worked under the guidance of Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin, The Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat and Mr. Muhammad Akram Bhatti, Registrar University of Gujrat. UOG collaborated with Pakistan Army and started working from August 14, 2010 collectively. The following faculty and staff members other than students took part in this campaign:

UOG also introduced a ticket of Rs. 50/- with each admission form and the amount will be deposited in UOG Flood Relief Account
Many ideas were expressed by former of disaster management cell Prof Dr Nizamuddin Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat while addressing the orientation seminar of volunteers for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected. It can be only done when we use the synergic struggle of Pak Army and UOG. Like the expenses on 14th August and on Eid festivals should be reduced and contribute this money to our affected brothers. Vice Chancellor Dr Nizamuddin himself donated Rs. 100,000/- Dr Zafar Yab Director QEC also contributed Rs. 100,000/- Dr Shehzad president Jabar Bin Hayan society contributed Rs. 20,000/- whereas Mr Shahid Minhas Additional Director External Linkages Contributed Rs. 10,000/- Prof Dr Nizamuddin on the occasion of departure of 16 trucks convoy of relief goods of worth about 15 millions rupees to flood affected areas of Rajanpur as there will be a need of liquid resources on Eid. The world class UOG contributed the assistance of worth 300,000,00 (three crore) rupees to the flood suffering people within three weeks. The UOG volunteers who are students as well as faculty members contributed rupees 15 millions for the suffered people of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa. It was a great pleasure for us to represent the University of Gujrat, the real world class university.
The basic purpose of collaboration was to restore the smiles of the affected people.
